At Universal Studios Florida, the exit to Villain-Con Minion Blast is open with a visible warnings sign in the Evil Stuff gift shop as Team Member testing gets underway.
Villain-Con Minion Blast Exit Open
Guests will exit through this large doorway in one corner of the store.
A Team Member was guarding the doorway during testing, but we were allowed to take a look at the warnings sign posted inside.
The sign describes Villain-Con Minion Blast as a “handheld blaster challenge along a moving walkway that includes loud noises and low-lighting conditions.” People with the following conditions should not ride:
- Medical sensitivity to strobe effects
- Motion sickness or dizziness
- Recent surgery or other conditions that may be aggravated by this attraction
Though there is no height requirement, children under 48″ must be accompanied by a supervising companion. Hand-held infants are not allowed.
Guests must remain standing at all times or in a standard wheelchair throughout. The attraction doesn’t accommodate motorized wheelchairs or electric convenience vehicles.
Guests with service animals or in need of an assistive listening device should see an attendant.
It also advises guests to secure all loose articles or leave them with a non-rider.
Construction walls are down around most of the attraction’s exterior but remain up at the entrance. It seems Universal executives and management were riding.
Villain-Con Minion Blast
Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast is a moving walkway stand-through shooting attraction that will use screen technology, gaming interactivity, and physical sets. Guests will put their villainous skills to the test in these immersive environments to become the next member of the Vicious 6. Gguests will be able to keep track of their scores and compete against each other.
Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast is taking the place of the now-defunct Shrek 4D attraction at Universal Studios Florida. You can take a final look at Shrek 4D before the closure in our post here and the closing night crowds in our post here.
At this time, we still don’t have an opening date for Illuminations’ Villain-Con Minion Blast. Are you looking forward to the new Villain-Con experience opening at Universal Studios Florida? Minion Land at Universal Studios Florida
Minion Land has taken over most of Production Central, transforming it into Illumination Avenue. Minion Café has replaced the former Universal Studios’ Classic Monsters Cafe, and is joined by Bake My Day, Freeze Ray Pops, and Pop-A-Nana. The attractions are the pre-existing Despicable Me Minion Mayhem and the upcoming Villain-Con Minion Blast. The façade of Despicable Me Minion Mayhem was recently refurbished.
The Minions and other Illumination characters have meet-and-greets outside Illumination Theater.
The back of the Transformers: The Ride show building has been painted teal blue to match the new land.
An entirely different Minion Land also exists at Universal Studios Beijing. However, at Universal Studios Japan, Minion Park is yet another separate land, with a clone under construction at Universal Studios Singapore. A different version of Minion Café exists at Universal Studios Hollywood.
