Spaceship Earth is dressed up for the Fourth of July, as hues of red, white, and blue emanate throughout EPCOT to celebrate Independence Day.
Fourth of July Spectacle of Light
Spaceship Earth, both an attraction and the primary icon (or weenie) of EPCOT, is adorned with countless LED “Points of Light,” which made their debut in 2021. Both bright and customizable, these lights can be used for all kinds of occasions and special nighttime presentations.
By the Disney100 centennial logo near the Creations Shop, we spotted this geodesic sphere sporting red, white, and blue — resembling the American flag as people around the country prepare to commemorate the 247th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence made by the Second Continental Congress in Philadelphia.
Close up, just past Guest Relations headed in the direction of the exit, we can see how much the lights twinkle.
Most recently, a newly-arranged Spectacle of Light show debuted during the 2023 EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival, incorporating music from “Encanto.” We have a full video available below:
Independence Day at Walt Disney World
To celebrate the Fourth of July, a U.S. Air Force flyover has been announced for Tuesday morning. Additionally, on July 3 and 4, Disney’s Celebrate America! — A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky will be returning in the nighttime.
At EPCOT, the “Heartbeat of Freedom” Fourth of July fireworks tag will be returning at 9 p.m. this Tuesday, Independence Day. Check out our video of the performance from last year above.
Tons of sweets and snacks for the occasion have been announced at Walt Disney World and Disneyland; check out the Patriotic Top Hat Cake we recently tried at Disney’s Riviera Resort.
