While on a recent visit to Disneyland, we noticed new characters and elements had been added to the CenTOONial Park Fountain in Mickey’s Toontown.
New Characters Added to CenTOONial Park Fountain in Mickey’s Toontown
The CenTOONial Park Fountain can be found in its namesake park, offering guests a whimsical view and kids a place to play with water and splash around.
The fountain’s base features water tables for guests to play in, and now, new critter characters have been added to call the fountain home.
One of the newest inhabitants is this frog.
The frog sits on a lily pad in the fountain. Behind it stands a cattail plant that squirts out water. Other lily pads in the fountain can be pushed down and pressed to make splashes.
Another new resident is this fish, smiling and enjoying the day.
This fish friend can also be found resting underneath a cattail that sprays water.
The last new friend we noticed was this turtle.
This turtle is living their best life in the shade, laying back and enjoying the cool water of the fountain.
As with the other critter sculptures, the turtle is also resting underneath a cattail that sprays water.
It is a bit hard to tell in photos, or even just by looking at it, but a touch test can confirm that the bottom of the fountain has also been retextured.
It is unclear just yet if the previously-advertised “nighttime spectacle” is also functional with these new additions, but we will update this story if that is the case.
What do you think of these new additions to the CenTOONial Fountain in Mickey’s Toontown? Does your family enjoy water play areas in the parks, or do you prefer a different use of space? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
The Reimagined Mickey’s Toontown
Mickey’s Toontown reopened to the public in Disneyland on March 19, 2023. Extensive repairs and changes were made to the land, including an increase in green spaces, quiet areas for guest relaxation and comfort, and added shade to the land.
Iconic structures guests known and loved since 1993, including Mickey and Minnie’s houses, received fresh paint in slightly toned-down hues. They otherwise remain unchanged. There are also two new dining venues in the land.
At the newly opened Café Daisy, offerings include hot dogs, pizza, and a Spring Garden Wrap. Picnic Time Watermelon Lemonade, Granny Goof’s Garden Sweet Tea, and Specialty Cold Brrr-ew are also available alongside standard fountain drinks and prepackaged water and juices. Check out our review of every item here.
Good Boy! Grocers is the second new venue in the land. It is a farmer’s market-style stand with grab-and-go items, and it replaced the former Goofy’s Gas Station.
Character meet-and-greets have resumed in Mickey’s Toontown, including Mickey and the gang, as well as a very special debut of Pete. One character even received a new costume for the grand reopening!
CenTOONial Park features two water tables and a Dreaming Tree that young ones can use for play. Donald’s Boat and Goofy’s house have been refurbished, with the latter now also holding Goofy’s How-to-Play Yard, which offers a sound garden and elevated clubhouse. Meanwhile, Gadget’s Go Coaster has become Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Gadget Coaster, though it will still be centered around Gadget Hackwrench. The centerpiece of the new land, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, opened in late January.
