Magic Kingdom
- Repainting continues at Magic Kingdom to bring the Tomorrowland boulders back to their former glory, but there is still much work to be done.
EPCOT
- Last month, scaffolding went up around the Hotel du Canada façade in the Canada Pavilion of EPCOT for a refurbishment and repainting is about to begin.
- Another tourist has been accused of behaving badly at Walt Disney World, while landing a Cast Member in the hospital with minor injuries.
- Signage has been installed at EPCOT for the newest World Showcase restaurant — Shiki-Sai.
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
- Although the lobby remodel has been delayed to next year, crew members continue working in and around the main building of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
New Merchandise
- A new tie-dye Tiana Spirit Jersey is available on shopDisney and will likely be at Disney Parks soon.
- A new Figment hat has debuted in the Creations Shop at EPCOT, offering guests the chance to show off their favorite dragon of imagination in a soft, fluffy way.
- A new Spirit Jersey has arrived at Walt Disney World to commemorate the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company, this time focusing on musical characters over the years.
- More Expedition Everest “Yeti Ski School” merchandise has arrived at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Disneyland Resort
- In a recent tweet from the official Disney Parks page, stars of the upcoming “Haunted Mansion” film recited some famous lines from the attraction the film is based on in a session of “Ghost Host” training.
- A new tie-dye Tiana Spirit Jersey is available on shopDisney and will likely be at Disney Parks soon.
- It’s starting to feel like Halloween just a bit early, as even more new Nightmare Before Christmas merchandise has arrived at Disneyland Resort.
- A handful of new Lion King merchandise items have arrived at Disneyland Resort.
- The small new “Peter Pan” merchandise collection we first reported on last week has now arrived at Disney California Adventure, along with a few new pieces.
- The Pepita puppet in the Magic Happens parade at Disneyland has been updated to a platform float with a driver.
- “The Haunted Mansion” premiere event is underway at Disneyland, and since the SAG-AFTRA strike means the stars can’t attend, characters and guests are filling in the available space.
Tokyo Disney Resort
- Rackety’s Raccoon Saloon, a quick-service snack shop, has reopened at Tokyo Disneyland with a new version of the classic Critter Sundae.
- We’ve discovered another new recyclable character plate at Tokyo Disneyland, this one featuring Goofy.
Disneyland Paris
- Disneyland Paris is breaking records this week, utilizing more drones than any other show in Disney Parks history for their Bastille Day extravaganza last night.
Entertainment and Media
- Disney+ will release a new 4K restoration of the 1950 animated film “Cinderella” this August, as part of World Princess Week.
- Sean Gunn, an actor for the “Guardians of the Galaxy” franchise, had some critical words to say toward Disney CEO Bob Iger.
