If you’re heading to Disney World, it’s a good idea to be prepared for the unexpected.
Thunderstorms can put a damper on your day, transportation might get delayed, and rides can have temporary closures. That’s why it’s important to have a plan B just in case plan A doesn’t go exactly the way you had hoped. But, sometimes, even with a backup plan, Disney World can feel a little hectic. Today, in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, was one of those days.
Earlier today, when we were in Hollywood Studios, we noticed that a LOT of rides were temporarily closed. It was a bit rainy, so we expect some rides to close when that happens, but surprisingly, most of these attractions are indoors!
Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy, Micky & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Slinky Dog Dash, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror were all closed at the same time today.
Thankfully, many of these rides reopened, but Slinky Dog Dash remained closed for a bit. In the meantime, the rest of Toy Story Land’s wait times soared. Tough break for Pixar fans today! Toy Story Mania reached a 105-minute wait…
… and Alien Swirling Saucers reached a 50-minute wait.
While this was going on, Tower of Terror reopened and had a wait time of half of what Alien Swirling Saucers was — that’s not something you see every day.
So, you really have to be able to go with the flow while you’re in Disney World — you never know what kind of day you’re going to have. If you can, try to get on your must-do attractions in the morning so you don’t risk the ride closing at an inopportune time! And if you’re really worried about getting to all of your favorite rides in a day, you can always purchase Genie+ the make things a little easier as well.
