Disney Entertainment earned a whopping 163 nominations for the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards. Among the movies and TV shows nominated are “Star Wars” shows “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” “Andor,” and “The Mandalorian.” “Ms. Marvel” earned three nominations. Disney+ in total got 40 nominations.
Docuseries “Light & Magic” about Industrial Light & Magic was nominated for Outstanding Music Composition for a Documentary Series or Special. “Hocus Pocus 2” was nominated for Outstanding Television Movie, as well as for costumes and music.
ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” earned eight nominations, Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building” earned 11, and “The Bear” on FX received 13.

Disney Entertainment Earns 163 Primetime Emmy® Award Nominations
Disney Entertainment proudly announces 163 nominations for the 75th Primetime Emmy® Awards across its content brands and studios, including ABC, ABC News Studios, Disney Branded Television, Disney+, Disney Television Studios (20th Television Animation, 20th Television, and ABC Signature), FX, FX Productions, Hulu, National Geographic, Onyx Collective, Searchlight Pictures, Searchlight Television, and Walt Disney Studios (20th Century Studios, Lucasfilm Ltd., Marvel Studios, and Walt Disney Pictures). Disney’s streaming platforms earned a total of 104 nominations, with Hulu and Disney+ receiving 64 and 40 nominations, respectively.
Disney Television Studios’ 54 nominations lead across all Disney content brands and studios. ABC earned 28 nominations—the most of any broadcast network—including Jimmy Kimmel Live!’s 12th consecutive nomination for Outstanding Variety Talk Series. Hulu received a total of 64 nominations between its Hulu Originals and exclusive FX series premiering on the streamer, as well as FX’s Atlanta and The Old Man and ABC and 20th Television’s Abbott Elementary debuting on the service following their network premieres.
Walt Disney Studios received 40 nominations, including three for Outstanding Television Movie: Prey, which marks 20th Century Studios’ first-ever Emmy nomination; Searchlight Pictures’ Fire Island; and Walt Disney Pictures’ Hocus Pocus 2. Lucasfilm Ltd. received 23 nominations across a record-high four titles: Andor, Light & Magic, The Mandalorian, and Obi-Wan Kenobi, with the latter marking the Studio’s first-ever limited series nomination. Overall, Disney+ earned 40 nominations, including three for Marvel Studios’ Ms. Marvel.
Disney Branded Television received eight nominations, including Outstanding Variety Special (Live) for Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium. The latter special and Dancing with the Stars are the first live programs streaming on Disney+ to receive Emmy nominations, with Disney Legend Elton John becoming one step closer to completing his EGOT and judge Derek Hough now having the most Emmy nominations for choreography. John previously won Grammy®, Oscar®, and Tony® awards for his Disney-produced content.
FX received 37 nominations in total. The Bear’s 13 nominations beat FX’s record for a freshman comedy series, including first-ever nominations for creator Christopher Storer and performers Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, and Jon Bernthal. Welcome to Wrexham—FX’s first foray into reality series—received six nominations, including the first-ever Emmy nominations for both Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
National Geographic earned eight nominations, including Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series for Secrets of the Elephants and Exceptional Merit in Documentary Filmmaking for The Territory.
ABC News received its first-ever Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields and ABC News Studios’ and Onyx Collective’s Aftershock. Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields was nominated for two awards, Outstanding Directing for a Documentary Nonfiction Program and Outstanding Picture Editing for a Nonfiction Program, while Aftershock was nominated for Exceptional Merit in Documentary Filmmaking.
The Hulu Original Taste the Nation with Padma Lakshmi received its first series nomination, while Padma Lakshmi currently holds 13 nominations. Mel Brooks received his 14th overall Primetime Emmy nomination; he is nominated for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance for 20th Television and Searchlight Television’s History of the World, Part II. Martin Short received his 15th Emmy nomination and his second nomination in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series category for 20th Television’s Only Murders in the Building; Ingrid Michaelson not only received her second Emmy nomination overall, but her second nomination for a Hulu miniseries, with ABC Signature’s Tiny Beautiful Things.
In its first year of eligibility, Onyx Collective received four Emmy nominations, owing to its new slate of television programming for Hulu. Three of those nominations are for the Hulu Original The 1619 Project (Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series, Outstanding Cinematography for a Nonfiction Program, and Outstanding Picture Editing for Nonfiction Program). The fourth nomination is for ABC News Studios and Hulu Originals’ Aftershock.
Searchlight Pictures’ Fire Island was also nominated in the Outstanding Writing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie category, while Searchlight Television earned two nominations for History of the World, Part II: Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming and Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance for Brooks.
