Construction continues at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, as the refurbishment that is scheduled to be completed in “late fall” of this year begins to wind down.
Disney’s Beach Club Resort Refurbishment
The plastic sheets we saw hanging around the second floor of the lobby last month have been removed, but now white construction walls cover the check-in desks and bell services on the first floor.
The white construction walls completely cover these areas, though the exit in the center remains open.
In the meantime, bell services has been moved to a temporary table in the lobby.
During our visit, some hallways were blocked off with black temporary stanchions.
While this resort is within walking distance of the Skyliner station located at EPCOT’s International Gateway, A-frame signs were posted requesting guests utilize the pathways through the main lobby to access the walkway to the park instead.
One of the doorways inside the Beach Club Marketplace was also closed, and an A-frame sign was posted asking guests to use an alternate exit.
Here you can see that same door from the other side, where another A-frame is set up, asking guests not to enter.
Here’s an example of some of the new carpeting that is being installed throughout the resort.
Elsewhere, an elevator was blocked off for refurbishment.
On the second floor, the guest hallways have received some minor updates, including new room range signage, carpeting, and furniture.
The updated signage is a light gray with pearly accents, to keep with the overall beach theme.
The room number signs also have this same update.
Here’s a look at some of the new carpeting on the second floor, which features all sorts of shells, coral, and other sea life.
This perspective offers a look out into the lobby from the second floor. The view opened up to guests after the plastic sheets were removed.
The black curtain that once hung at the top of this set of stairs has now been removed, and guests are able to utilize them once again.
Outside, barriers, lifts, and other construction equipment have been staged, likely to aid with refurbishment work on the exterior of the resort.
