Soarin’ Around the World at Disney California Adventure has reopened, but scrims and scaffolding remain up around the attraction’s façade.
Soarin’ Around the World Painting
Soarin’ Around the World was closed for refurbishment starting on July 5. By July 8, scaffolding was up around the hangar-style building.
Before the ride reopened, we saw crew members repainting the entrance area.
Construction walls resembling a wooden fence blocked the entrance.
Green scrims were wrapped around the scaffolding.
Part of the queue was not blocked from view.
We could see a crew member working on scaffolding right next to the Monorail track that runs over the queue.
Soarin’ Around the World Reopens
Soarin’ Around the World reopened on July 15, but most of the construction walls, scaffolding, and scrims remained up.
The standby line wrapped around some of the construction walls and scrim.
It looked like crew members were done painting around the entrance, where there were no more construction walls.
The entrance features dark brown metal archways. and matching lanterns.
Crews may still be working on repainting the rest of the façade.
Soarin’ Around the World takes guests on a simulated hang-gliding journey across some of the most iconic landmarks and natural wonders of the world; including Mt. Kilimanjaro, the Taj Mahal, and the Eiffel Tower. With the help of a massive curved screen and state-of-the-art technology, riders are lifted into the air and suspended in front of the screen, creating a realistic sensation of flight.
