PREVIEW and PHOTOS: Is This What We Can Expect When the Newest Restaurant Opens in Disney World?

Hold up, this might be the best Disney snack news we hear all year!

The Boardwalk

We’re getting so excited about the addition of The Cake Bake Shop at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn restaurants and have been anxiously tracking its construction progress. We also saw a complete retheming to the relatively new Boardwalk Deli that was transformed from the Boardwalk Bakery. Now, we’re learning of another snack spot that will soon call the Boardwalk “home”!

If you’ve ever been to Downtown Disney in Disneyland, chances are you’ve — at the very least — walked by Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs. It’s a snack kiosk known for some wild corn dog creations like the Golden Dragon and Panko Crusted Pickle Dog but are also known for their Classic Dog.

Those that have taken that one step further and actually TRIED one (or couldn’t help yourself to a few) of their corn dogs you’ll know what we have to say next is kind of a big deal. Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs recently took to Instagram to announce in a short reel that they’re expanding!

That’s right! Blue Ribbon Corn Dog lovers will FINALLY have their first taste on the opposite coast coming soon. Disney World will be getting their very own expansion for Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Villas and honestly, we couldn’t think of a better fit for them.

We’re hoping the Pickle Dog makes its way over here — but, this is NOT for those who dislike pickles. In fact, if you’re not too sure about this kinda weird combo of ingredients, you’ll probably want to pass. But if you’re a pickle fan — and especially if you love the pickles in Disneyland — you’ll likely really enjoy it.

Blue Ribbon’s Pickle Dog

The Golden Dragon corn dog is a panko-encrusted, kosher, all-beef corn dog. This one comes with Sriracha Aioli and Sweet Thai Chili dipping sauces. It wasn’t too spicy, and the panko breadcrumbs added a nice, light crunch. The Sriracha Aioli and Sweet Thai Chili dipping sauces were delicious and went perfectly with the Golden Dragon. Each sauce added a lot of flavor, but just like the corn dog, neither was too spicy.

We’ve been tracking the progress of the now long-closed Funnel Cake Kiosk at the Boardwalk for a good while now and were starting to think we’d never see anything replace that space. This news comes as a welcome surprise to those of us that have felt that the choices in snacks at the Boardwalk have been a bit lacking as of late.

Funnel Cake Kiosk is closed

When we noticed work being done on the kiosk earlier this summer, we were somewhat skeptical that we could see a resurgence of the funnel cake kiosk, but we’re pleased to see that new life with be breathed into this space as it’s transformed.

Christmas Corn Dog!

While Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs didn’t give a specific date, their announcement does mention “later this year” so we’re excited to see this space transform and can’t wait to be one of the first to try their east coast offerings. Blue Ribbon hasn’t shared any potential menu items just yet, but if the Disneyland version is any indication — we’re going to need to bring our stretchy pants!

We’ll continue to keep you posted on updates as we have them so for the latest in Disney foodie news, be sure to check back in with us here!
