In addition to the Rapunzel Sundae, Storybook Treats also debuted the “Sleeping Beauty”-inspired Aurora Cone dessert today. Come with us as we try it.
Aurora Cone — $6.29
Dole Whip Strawberry and Blue Soft-serve topped with White Chocolate Crisp Pearls in a Sugar Cone
Storybook Treats can be found in Fantasyland across from Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and near Friar’s Nook.
The description calls this a swirl of strawberry and “blue” Dole Whip soft-serve. The pink and blue colors are meant to hearken to Princess Aurora from the classic Disney film “Sleeping Beauty.”
The blue is blueberry, and the flavors combine to remind us of a tube of berry-flavored “go-gurt”.
We honestly preferred this dessert option to the Rapunzel Sundae we reviewed earlier. It’s less sour and tangy, with the right amount of sweetness. While we loved the taste, it’s worth noting that the cone breaks very easily and if you aren’t quick when you crunch on the crispy pearls your soft-serve will end up melting.
You’ve got to be a quick eater to make this dessert count on a hot day!
