Celebrate the release of the fifth and final Harrison Ford Indiana Jones adventure, “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,” with some adventurous fare at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar in Disney Springs.
Marché-stuffed Dates and Figs – $12
prosciutto-wrapped dates stuffed with marcona almonds and goat cheese, cognac-infused figs, cipollini onion, and balsamic drizzle
This was the only really new-to-us menu item, and we enjoyed it.
The goat cheese added a richness to the dish that was so delicious, it was unreal. The prosciutto wrapped around the dates was thick, which almost had us fooled that it was actually bacon.
The dates and cipollini onions were nicely roasted. We highly recommend this.
Bacon of Doom – $32
thick-cut applewood-smoked bacon dipped in The Ganachery’s milk chocolate, and chipotle ganache served with choice of a shareable smoked cocktail (Trusty Revolver or Snake Bite Margarita)
The Bacon of Doom, or Temple of Bacon, is still the same dish we have had before. We thought this time around that there might be too much chocolate here; the coating was much too thick.
We also found the bacon to be very chewy, almost like how you would imagine a dog treat. The bacon had a slight kick of heat and spice. If you prefer that flavor, you can just eat the bacon and avoid the chocolate.
The drink included here this time around was the Trusty Revolver, made with Bulleit Rye Whiskey, Tipplers Orange Liqueur, and Luxardo Cherries, all smoked and served with an ice sphere.
The Trusty Revolver leaves a strong smoky flavor to the bacon in favor of a smooth spice. The orange liqueur was prominent in the flavor palette.
Charter Flight (Reggie’s Revenge, Cool-Headed Monkey, and Mayor’s Reserve) – $22
The Mayor’s Reserve: Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Bols Blackberry Brandy, simple syrup, and lemon juice
Cool-headed Monkey: Starr African Rum, Van Der Hum Tangerine Liqueur, fresh lime juice, watermelon, and pineapple juice
Reggie’s Revenge: Florida Cane ‘Orlando Orange’ Vodka, Midori Melon Liqueur, white cranberry juice, and fresh lime juice
The Mayor’s Reserve was easily the best out of the flight for us. We thought it was perfectly mixed.
The Cool-headed Monkey was an interesting tiki drink. We enjoyed it.
We found Reggie’s Revenge to be very sweet. It wasn’t a bad cocktail… but just not our thing. The melon flavor of the midori was very prominent here.
