A new Smoked Chimichurri-Braised Beef option has been added to the create-your-own bowl menu at Satu’li Canteen in Pandora – The World of Avatar, and we visited Disney’s Animal Kingdom to try it for ourselves.
Smoked Chimichurri-Braised Beef Bowl – $14.49
A Cast Member recommended we try the new meat option with rice and black beans as the base, and Charred Green Onion Vinaigrette for the sauce, so that’s what we did.
The change in meat offerings is a positive for Disney in our book. The chimichurri-braised beef is soft and almost melts in your mouth.
The rest of the bowl’s flavors compliment the beef just as well as other bowls we’ve tried previously at Satu’li Canteen.
The charred edges of the beef remain soft, but give it a subtle smoky aftertaste.
The boba balls are a wild addition to the experience, though we didn’t have many in our serving. When you do get one in a bite, though, it’s a shocking but delightful surprise of sweetness in an otherwise savory entree.
The serving size for the cost is competitive for the parks. We felt it was a great value for the amount of food you receive.
However, there was one downside for us — the bowl had a bit too much rice for our taste. But the rice did balance out the minimal spice from what we think was the Charred Green Onion Vinaigrette.
Overall, we would definitely order this again on a cooler day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
