There’s a super new way to fuel up on the go when you’re visiting Marvel Super Hero Island. This bright green snack stand is located right across from the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, where Chomp Hot Dogs used to stand. Food offerings include hot dogs, chili dogs, and a Bavarian pretzel, but the most intriguing item on the menu is the Potato Knish. J. Jonah Jameson would want the full scoop, so we gave the Potato Knish a try!
Potato Knish – $8.49
Delicate pastry filled with potato served with sour cream
What a surprising and delicious knish! The pastry shell is super soft and flaky. It’s buttery and fresh, and had us drooling at first glance. The potato knish is served hot and comes with a cup of sour cream on the side. We were curious if you could pick this up and eat it, but quickly decided it’s best consumed with a fork and knife. This will also allow you to distribute the sour cream better than dipping.
Inside the thin pastry shell, there’s a large portion of a mashed potatoes filling. Potato lovers need to get this! The potato filling has such a creamy texture and flavor, we almost went back for another one right away. There’s just something about these creamy potatoes that will have you hooked. Add a bit of sour cream to kick it up a notch, but the potatoes have enough flavor on their own, the sour cream isn’t even necessary. This is a very heavy option, though, but is great if you need a simple, filling snack.
Universal has been updating menu options around the parks and getting more creative with their offerings. You can grab a classic theme park hot dog from this Marvel snack stand or go for something more interesting like the Potato Knish. We would recommend eating after riding The Incredible Hulk Coaster, though!
