Flavors of Florida is back at Disney Springs, and we recently paid a visit to Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar to try out the limited time menu items.
Florida Shrimp Tacos – $13
Florida jerk-marinated Gulf shrimp, watermelon-and-avocado pico de Gallo, and jalapeno, served on a corn tortilla with a lime
These tacos had perfectly prepared shrimp hidden amongst way too much cabbage.
The shrimp was super soft and tender, but the tacos overall were a bit messy. We also weren’t sure that we tasted any watermelon in the pico de gallo.
We would much rather have this shrimp on top of rice instead of in taco form. The tortilla it was all housed in was soggy and chewy.
If you’re interested, you can catch a demonstration with Chef Georg Paulussen, Chef Jennifer Ladisky, and Chef Gary Miles as they make these tacos this August as part of Flavors of Florida at Disney Springs. No advance registration is needed, and you can learn more about the demonstration here.
Florida Mule – $15.50
Florida cane vodka, ginger beer, orange juice, and simple syrup
The Florida Mule is a simple cocktail that tastes like your average mule, though was not our favorite beverage to try.
We found the ginger beer to be a bit strong, and a little bitter. Not bad, but not great. We prefer the other mule on the menu, the Air Pirate’s Mule.
These offerings are only available through August 13 at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar. Will you be trying any of these items? Let us know in the comments.
