Sometimes narrowing down juuussssst the right snack to try in Disney’s Hollywood Studios can be tough!
Galaxy’s Edge is full of some really cool snacks, like the Ronto Wraps from Ronto Roasters and the interesting popcorn flavors from Kat Saka’s Kettle. We even got to try a few exclusive options for May the 4th this year that seemed to disappear as quickly as they showed up. But what do you need to try out if you’re looking for something sweet, Star Wars-themed, and consistently around?
Since it’s been so hot in Disney World lately, we searched for the perfect place to stop in and cool off for a while and then thought, “What better atmosphere to stop and have a drink than Oga’s Cantina?“
If you’re not familiar with Oga’s Cantina, it can be a lot to take in at first glance. It’s a bit darker and more adult-themed than the rest of Batuu in Galaxy’s Edge. You’ve got DJ R-3X spinning tunes at the turntables, a few seating areas surrounding the furthest corners of the cantina, and a few seats at the bar, which is where we grabbed a spot this time.
Since we weren’t planning on stopping for long, we decided to cool off with Oga’s Obsession.
Don’t get us wrong, this isn’t a new treat for Oga’s Cantina, but it has been a while since the last time we tried it, so we decided to see if it was just like we remembered. As a reminder, this treat looks WEIRD. Here’s a look at Oga’s Obsession the last time we tried it. Does anyone else see a Petri dish full of bacteria?!
Well, today’s as good a day as any to try some weird space food. It’s made of Minute Maid premium lemonade, cotton candy flavor, and blueberry popping pearls with a bursting dried fruit mixture. It’s also a non-alcoholic option, making it super kid-friendly! This one cost us $7.50. As you can see, the toppings are a little different this time around.
Despite its odd looks, this is a fun, colorful, and unique treat to grab at a fun Star Wars bar. This treat is sweet, and the flavors of blueberry and lemonade are nice and strong. The hard pop rock-like candy added a fun texture to the treat as well. The popping boba balls also added a very interesting texture to the mix. There’s a lot going on, but we liked it!
This treat also has the consistency of jello, so it’s no surprise that it goes down fairly easily if you’re feeling up to the challenge and want to slurp it out of the cup. However, it separates easily if you plan to use a utensil and scoop it out like we did. If you’re an adventurous eater and don’t mind a flavorful, texture-filled treat, then this could be right up your alley. It’s a complex yet fun combo that comes in a super casual package. However, we could see the flavor combo being too much for picky eaters. While the two flavors separately could be tolerated, together, they are unique and might take you by surprise if you’re not used to combining your treats and textures.
Overall we really enjoyed this one and would come back for it again when visiting Galaxy’s Edge! If this doesn’t sound like the treat you’re looking for, though, check out a few of the reviews of other Disney snacks and treats below. And as always, stay tuned to DFB for the latest!
