Listen, we know lots of things in Disney World are EXPENSIVE.

The park tickets themselves are expensive, and if you’ve splurged on Genie+ you’re spending even more to skip the rides. Not to mention you need to stay hydrated, so you may be buying water or sodas left and right. There’s one beverage you can get for free, but it’s totally not worth even that price tag.
You can find free water around at Disney World’s water fountains, but that stuff is NOT worth the free price tag.
Magic Kingdom Water Fountains
Why? Well, water is water, but since it’s usually so hot out, this water can be super warm and doesn’t taste all that great. It’s safe to drink, but one taste may have you tempted to spend $4 on that bottle of water.

Even the bottle fill stations aren’t that much better. Now, we’re NOT saying to give in and buy that expensive water. No, instead we’ve got a few tips to help make that water a little more bearable.
Galaxy’s Edge Water Fountains
If water fountains and refill stations are your most accessible option, we suggest bringing some flavor packets from home to mix in with the water to help negate the off taste a little bit. You can choose to grab multiple different flavors to appease the whole family, and it may also help get some electrolytes in your system, too.
TTC Water Fountains
Now the other option? There’s another way to get free water in Disney World that tastes much better — grab free water cups from quick service locations!
FREE Cups of Water at Disney World
Yes, most quick service locations around property will have free water cups available that are cold, refreshing, and taste much better than the water fountains. Here’s a list of some of our favorite quick service locations to grab free water:
- Pecos Bill Tale Tell Inn (Magic Kingdom)
- Friar’s Nook (Magic Kingdom)
- Connections Eatery (EPCOT)
- Sunshine Seasons (EPCOT)
- Docking Bay 7 (Hollywood Studios)
- ABC Commissary (Hollywood Studios)
- Restaurantosaurus (Animal Kingdom)

We highly recommend refilling your bottle with these cups of water rather than the water fountains, because it’ll help cool you down too, and the better taste will encourage you to drink more.
