This Is the BEST Thing About Disney’s New Donald Duck Restaurant

We’ve been to a LOT of new Disney restaurants over the years.

The opening of a new dining spot is one of the most exciting things for a Disney fan! Brand new theming and ambiance AND new eats?! It can really be a dream come true. We’ve seen quite a few restaurants that have opened recently and MORE announced for the future, but right now we’ve GOT to talk about a new restaurant that you might want to visit ASAP (though getting there could be a little complicated).

Earlier this year (in January), Shanghai Disney Resort opened a NEW spot called Donald’s Dine ‘n Delights in Disneytown. Yep, that’s right folks, it’s a whole restaurant dedicated to the #1 Donald Duck!

We shared some news about this spot when it first opened, but today we’re taking you on a deeper dive into the details. Be warned — by the end of this, you could find yourself booking a flight to Shanghai Disney Resort ASAP.

Theming and Decor

Let’s start with what could be THE best thing at the restaurant — the theming and decor!

©Disney

On the outside, you’ll find an adorable statue of Donald Duck in his very best chef’s hat holding some cooking tools — look at you go, Donald!

©Disney

The sign for the restaurant is beautiful as well, sporting Donald’s signature blue as well as a hidden Mickey, and little figures of Chip ‘n’ Dale holding some snacks — how fun!

©Disney

The decor of this entire place is really inspired by our favorite duck, but it seems he couldn’t leave some of his best friends behind!

The inside!

Inside, you’ll find beautiful murals on the vaulted ceiling. Look closely and you’ll find Goofy holding FAR too much ice cream, Pluto munching on some pizza, some of Donald’s nephews…

…and Daisy and Donald floating around.

There are 2 murals in the space so you’ll want to keep looking for even MORE details.

Looks like Donald has really taken to cooking!

And plenty of his friends are in on the fun.

Look at Goofy carrying all those pancakes!

But wait…there’s more. There are some incredible retro-style stained glass artworks depicting Donald, and some of his friends like Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Daisy, Chip, Dale, and his nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie.

This table service spot is the first Disney-themed restaurant in Disneytown.

Disney describes it as a great place to celebrate a child’s birthday, have afternoon tea with friends, or stop by for cocktails in the evenings. A little bit of Disney charm for all ages! It looks like celebrations really can be a big thing here as one video from Disney depicts a sign being held up as part of the festivities…

…and a cute cake too!

Even the Cast Members get in on the action as they’re wearing French street-style outfits in iconic Donald Duck colors.

While the decor might be a huge draw, the food is also something you’ve GOT to see!

The Food!

This dining spot is a bistro that features Western cuisine with Asian-inspired touches. You’ll find things like specialty pizza, milkshakes…

and ice cream sundaes on the menu.

©Disney

Just look at how colorful that drink is too!

©Disney

Each of the menu items seems to have some special whimsical touches! The milkshakes are topped with art of Donald and friends, and the steak even has a pat of Donald Duck-shaped herb butter on top.

©Disney

Dare we say it, but that might be cooler than Mickey butter! 😲

©Disney

The pizzas look absolutely delicious and they’re made by the in-house pizza chef.

©Disney

Some Cast Members who got to visit the restaurant raved about the Seafood Pizza. Tony Zhang, guest services manager at the main entrance, also shared, “The attention to detail made the experience that much more memorable – even the dishes and tableware were exquisite!”

©Disney

Some things you can order from the menu include the Yunnan Truffle Pizza, Steak Café de Paris, Donald Duck Fishing Plate with Chip ‘n’ Dale Onion Rings, and Donald Duck’s Vanilla Shake.

©Disney

Look at the plate they serve the onion rings on! It even comes with little egg-shaped sauce holders!

©Disney

It looks like the menu also includes some more vegetable-focused offerings.

©Disney

Disney notes that the menu also features:

  • Appetizers
  • Homemade Soups
  • Kids’ Create-Your-Own Menu
  • Desserts
  • Saturday, Sunday and Holiday Brunch

Sounds like there’s a little bit for everyone!
