If we had a nickel for every time we ate a candle in a Disney theme park, we’d have at least 2 nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice, right? (Credit to Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb for that iconic quote.)
Seriously, we don’t really know why Disney keeps feeding us candles…but we’re just gonna go with it because so far they’ve been pretty tasty. Come with us to try the latest Haunted Mansion-inspired treat!
First, let’s reminisce about some other Disney candles we’ve eaten. There was the Hocus Pocus-inspired Black Flame Candle from Gasparilla Island Grill in Disney World…
…the Beef Fat Candle from Le Cellier in EPCOT…
…and the Black Flame Candle Cake from Amorette’s Patisserie at Disney Springs.
The newest edible candle can be found at Café Orleans in Disneyland! It’s part of the limited-time Haunted Mansion prix fixe meal being offered here to celebrate the Haunted Mansion film’s upcoming release.
We got the meal (which costs $45 total for an appetizer, entrée, and dessert), and we’ll have a full review ready for you soon! But we just couldn’t wait to show you this awesome dessert. It’s the Haunted Mansion Candle and Heart Dessert.
This treat is a white chocolate shell filled with vanilla mousse, standing on top of a pecan cookie with a cherry compote sauce. The sauce is splattered onto the plate for a macabre look, which fits the Haunted Mansion vibes very well.
We thought this treat was pretty good! The white chocolate was very sweet and a little heavy, but the mousse inside was light and cool, which balanced it out. There was also a caramel sauce in between the candle and cookie, which we thought was tasty and super sweet.
The cookie was very buttery, but it was probably our least favorite part of the dessert. Still, if you like nutty flavors, you’ll definitely appreciate this one!
This prix fixe meal is limited-time, so it won’t be around forever. Some of the other Haunted ansion-themed treats are sticking around in Disneyland until late August, so it’s possible that this meal will disappear around then as well.
