5 HIDDEN Disney World Hotel Spots You’ve (Probably) Never Heard Of

Disney World is known for being pretty magical, but if you ask us, some of the most magical places are found in the hotels.

Riviera Resort

It makes sense that Disney would make a point to put some seriously cozy places in peoples’ homes-away-from-home, and if you’re looking for somewhere to take a break or just find a new hangout spot — you’re gonna want to write these hidden Disney World hotel spots down.

The next time you’re in Disney World, consider checking these hidden hotel spots out!

Riviera Resort

Disney’s Riviera Resort is the newest hotel on the block, and it has quickly become a fan favorite. Modeled after the Mediterranean Riviera, you’ll find nods to all sorts of European regions here. And, you’ll also find Voyageurs’ Loungewhich reflects Walt Disney’s travels through Europe, and even has decor inspired by the books Walt Disney collected during his 1935 “Grand Tour” through the continent.

Voyageurs Lounge

Grab a drink and something sweet from Le Petit Cafe while cozying up in this wood-paneled, velvet-clad, library-esque room. When we’ve visited, it’s often nearly empty with maybe just a few other folks inside. This makes it a great place to work, study, read, or just take a break from the hustle and bustle of it all.

Beach Club

We also love the Solarium at the Beach Club Resort! This spot is located across from Beach Club Marketplace and is bright, airy, has plenty of seating, a television, and not much else — and if you ask us, that can be a good thing in Disney World. This spot has serene vibes and cozy spots to sit and relax.

The Crescent Solarium

This spot is especially convenient if you’re spending the day at EPCOT and feel like you need a break. Since the Beach Club is within walking distance to EPCOT, it’s just a quick pop on over to the Solarium. You used to be able to get afternoon tea here, but we haven’t seen that return since Disney World reopened after the pandemic.

Wilderness Lodge

Did you know there’s a HIDDEN train room at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge? The Carolwood Pacific Room is located inside the Boulder Ridge Villas on the ground floor, just off the main lobby. And it’s probably no surprise that it’s all about Walt Disney’s love of trains.

Carolwood Pacific Room

Before Disneyland, Walt built a small railroad track in the backyard of his home in Los Angeles, California, known as the Carolwood Pacific Railroad. This room is an homage to Walt’s beginnings and you’ll find all sorts of nods to him around the room — along with some seriously cozy vibes (check out that fireplace!).

Contemporary Resort

Disney’s Contemporary Resort is home to newly refurbished rooms, a monorail stop, and plenty of shopping and dining. It’s also one of our favorite places to take in the view at Disney World! The outdoor balcony is located on the same floor as Chef Mickey’s and Contempo Cafe, just past Bayview Gifts and Fantasia Market. You’ll find doors leading to an outdoor area with a few chairs — and quite the view.

You’ll also get to see the monorail whizz by and make its way around the rest of Disney World. There’s also a balcony on the 15th floor that is excellent for fireworks viewing, but it’s reserved for patrons of California Grill. The good news is, no matter what time you ate at California Grill, you can bring your receipt back that same day to watch the fireworks from there!

Animal Kingdom Lodge

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is known for its killer views and incredible animals, but there are actually some hidden places where you can post up and pretend you’re Sir David Attenborough narrating a nature documentary. Yep, there are secret balconies on either side of the lobby. To find them, just exit the main building and climb the spiral staircases.

The hidden balcony!

These areas are complete with stools and rocking chairs, which make them the perfect places for an early morning cup of coffee and critter-watching.
