During today’s Q3 2023 earnings call, Disney announced significant price increases for Disney+ and Hulu’s premium plans, also sharing news that an ad-free bundle of both platforms will roll out in the U.S., according to Variety.
Disney+ and Hulu Premium Price Increase
Starting October 12, Disney+ Premium (with no ads) will increase 27 percent, going from $10.99 to $13.99 per month for subscribers in the U.S. For Hulu, their premium plan will increase by 20% from $14.99 to $17.99 per month. The pricing for both streaming services’ ad-supported options will stay the same, at $7.99 and $9.99 per month, respectively.
This marks the second price increase for Disney+ in less than a year; with the addition of the ad-supported tier in December 2022, the price for the premium offering went up from $7.99 to $10.99. When this new price goes into effect, it will have doubled from the service’s introductory price of $6.99 when the service first launched in 2019.
Disney+ and Hulu Premium Bundle
In addition to these increases, Disney will also launch a new premium bundle of Disney+ and Hulu, priced at $19.99 per month. It was also previously announced that Disney+ and Hulu would eventually be rolled into one streaming app experience that releases sometime this year, which makes this bundle a bit more enticing; however, the services will still have their own separate apps for those who don’t wish to opt-in to a bundle.
