Gen Con, Ravensburger, and the Disney Lorcana team have improved operations during day two of Gen Con 2023. On Thursday morning, we experienced a dangerous, unorganized crowd as attendees tried to get their hands on Disney Lorcana products. Many who had been waiting all night weren’t even able to get the Disney Lorcana products they wanted. Gen Con announced that evening there would be an overnight line for the rest of the weekend — just for the Ravensburger booth where Disney Lorcana is sold.
Disney Lorcana Sales at Gen Con
The Disney Lorcana line opened at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday night outside Hall F. Plenty of people were sitting in line at midnight, with Gen Con’s exhibition hall scheduled to open at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 4. This system proved to be much more organized.
As shared by The Illumiteers, the Disney Lorcana team stopped by in the morning with donuts, coffee, juice, and water for the attendees who had been in line all night. They even double-checked if attendees had blood sugar issues.
By 9:15 a.m., the line was outside the building, although there were breaks in it for other attendees to walk through. Guests waiting were given wristbands to mark their place and ensure nobody cut the queue. Having a wristband doesn’t guarantee you will get product.
Attendees were actually let in early, at about 9:40 a.m., led by Lorcana designer Ryan Miller. There were six registers open and things ran smoothly. The staff seemed to be more knowledgeable about what was going on. Miller stuck around to talk to attendees.
Additionally, Disney Lorcana artist Nicholas Kole will be signing autographs at the Ravensburger booth Friday, August 4, and Saturday, August 5, from 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. and from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m. each day.

While these products are available at Gen Con this weekend, the official release will be at specialty stores on August 18. Ravensburger has been advising local game stores not to allow online orders. Preorders are available now online at Best Buy ahead of the September 1 wide release.
