Disney Reveals a CLUE About the 2023 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays

Okay, okay, we know what you’re thinking — “You’re ALREADY talking about the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays?!” But hear us out, Disney is a special place where all seasons start at…unique times.

Sure, pumpkin season may have only just started in some spots, but we can’t help but get excited about all things holly and jolly! Disney has already announced that the 2023 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays will take place from November 24th through December 30th, 2023, and they’ve shared that there will be holiday kitchens, musical acts, and more but now we’ve got a clue about another returning offering!

Disney has confirmed that guests will once again get to catch Holiday Storytellers sharing festive traditions from around the world.

These are the storytellers you can typically find sprinkled throughout World Showcase that perform little shows throughout the day, sharing what it’s like to celebrate certain Festivals in different countries. And now we’ve got another clue about the return of this offering!

On the Disney auditions website, there is an audition posting now available where Disney notes that they’re seeking “Actors for Holiday Storytellers.” According to the audition notice, they are looking for online submissions from actors local to Central Florida.

Disney hasn’t confirmed just what storytellers will be back, but the audition notice might give us a bit of a clue. There are monologues available for folks to read through as part of the audition and these include:

  • Canada — Pere Noel
  • A Chanukah Storyteller (which Disney notes should also be able to play a musical instrument)
  • France — Pere Noel
  • Italy — La Befana
  • Japan — Darmua Vendor
  • Norway — Barn Santa
  • Norway — Sigrid
  • UK — Father Christmas

The audition notice goes on to talk about the requirements.

Now, keep in mind that Disney hasn’t released an official list of the holiday storytellers that will be available this year so this audition list might not necessarily be a perfect representation of what we’ll see in the parks. But it can give us a hint as to what we could see and that’s enough to get us excited for storytelling, hot cocoa, and Festival fun!

And regardless of what storytellers ultimately make it into the park this year, the audition notice does indicate that Disney is already preparing for the Festival, meaning we’re just one step closer to its return!
