Disney’s Animal Kingdom Wait Times Before Hurricane Idalia Arrives

Hurricane Idalia is on its way to Florida, and it is reflected in the crowds and wait times at Disney. On Tuesday, the day before the storm is supposed to make landfall, we decided to go on an adventure. I took a trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom to see the different wait times and examine the crowds.

The first clue that let me know that crowd levels were low was that the parking lot was empty. When I pulled into the parking lot, it was 11:30 a.m., and only half of the lot on the left was filled. The right side of the parking lot was barely being used. This indicated that the park would be pretty empty, which it was.

I rode three attractions and boarded all of them in under ten minutes. Kilimanjaro Safaris had a 10-minute posted wait time, but I was on the ride within eight minutes.

After that, I went to Dinoland U.S.A. to ride DINOSAUR. This was also posted at a 10-minute wait, and it only took 5 minutes to get to the loading dock.

No shocker here, but Expedition Everest also showed as a 10-minute wait, and I got on the ride within four minutes. Basically, each attraction was a walk-on, which was great.

Let’s take a look at the rest of the attractions at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

At the end of my adventure, the clouds started rolling in, and the wind started picking up, so I am sure the wait times will continue to drop as we move into tomorrow. Now, it’s time to hunker down and wait out the storm. We hope all of you in the storm’s path stay safe during this hurricane.
