Hong Kong Disneyland was testing the lights of the new, upcoming World of Frozen land this week, illuminating Elsa’s ice palace and the rest of Arendelle.
World of Frozen Lighting
HKDL Fantasy shared photos of the lit-up land visible at a distance from other parts of Hong Kong Disneyland.
Elsa’s ice palace on the North Mountain glowed blue behind the Castle of Magical Dreams.
Details visible include the curved bridge Elsa crosses to reach her ice palace and the balcony she stands on at the end of “Let it Go.”
In the village of Arendelle, the clock tower featuring dolls of Anna and Elsa was also illuminated.
A blue light shines behind a diamond-pattern window, while the clock is lit-up golden-yellow. The dolls in front of the clock are inspired by Anna and Elsa as they appeared in “Frozen.” They were visible thanks to small spotlights.

Various windows in the village were lit up, as though from candlelight within.
And at the center of the castle courtyard is the snowflake-inspired Friendship Fountain, which glowed a blue-purple color. Behind trees, small streams of water were visible.
The fountain was previously revealed in World of Frozen poster art and resembles the icy fountains Elsa creates at the end of “Frozen.”
World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland
Construction is nearly complete on World of Frozen in Hong Kong Disneyland and it’s set to open this November. It will include its own version of Frozen Ever After, with non-screen faces on the animatronics. Just like the EPCOT version of the attraction, guests will embark on a journey to the North Mountain where Elsa’s Ice Palace awaits as part of the Summer Snow Day celebration.
The first “Frozen”-themed coaster anywhere in the world will be Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs. According to the land’s lore, the coaster was built by Wandering Oaken himself. He’s enlisted the help of his buddies Olaf and Sven to power the attraction as they work together to pull the sleds to the top of the lift hill. In May 2023, Disney released a behind-the-scenes video of the ride testing. And last month, they shared a look at the themed queue featuring figures of Sven and Olaf.
The third attraction will be Playhouse in the Woods, an interactive play experience for children to celebrate Summer Snow Day.
Guests will be able to dine at the Golden Crocus Inn, named after the national symbol of Arendelle. This will be the primary dining area for the land, promising a diverse array of cuisine.
Tick Toy Toys & Collectibles is a toy shop operated by a wood carver and his wife. This will be a central merchandise location for toys and keepsakes that include elaborate character carvings.
“Frozen” lands are also under construction at Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris and Tokyo DisneySea as part of Fantasy Springs.
