Costume Guidelines
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is one of the only times guests 14+ can wear costumes in the park. See the full guidelines below.
Ages 0-13
- Costumes and some costume masks may be worn; masks must provide unobstructed peripheral vision at all times with openings that allow the eyes to be fully seen.
Ages 14+ (Including Adults)
- All Guests may dress as their favorite character, but may not pose for pictures or sign autographs for other Guests.
- Costumes must be family-friendly and may not be obstructive, offensive, objectionable, or violent.
- Costumes may not contain any props or accessories that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.
- Costumes may not contain sharp objects, pointed objects, or materials that may accidentally strike another Guest.
- Layered costumes or costume props that surround the entire body are strongly discouraged and may be subject to additional security screening.
- Costumes may not reach or drag on the ground. (for example, full-length Princess dresses)
- Capes may be worn if the length does not go below the waist.
- Themed T-shirts, blouses, sweatshirts, and hats are acceptable.
- Acceptable accessories include transparent wings, plastic light sabers, toy swords, and tutus. Costume headwear may be worn as long as it does not cover the face.
- Costume masks of any kind may not be worn.
Arrival
Guests can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00 p.m. ET and must present valid Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party tickets to receive an event wristband.
This year, the plastic bracelets were replaced by ribbons.
At 7:00 p.m., regular park guests are escorted out of the park, and only guests with wristbands are allowed to remain inside.
If you’re already in the park, you can pick up your wristband from the following locations:
- Magic Kingdom entrance turnstiles
- Fantasy Faire
- Monsters Inc., Laugh Floor
- Tortuga Tavern
Even if you’re in Magic Kingdom, we recommend stopping by the welcome trail as pictured above, to pick up your first treat of the night.
Don’t forget to pick up a guide map (or take a full look inside here).
Trick or Treat Trails
Each guest receives a complimentary trick or treat bag. This year, the reusable bag features Mickey in his vampire costume.
There are 15 trick or treat trails around the park. You can find them by locating the inflatable totems, as pictured above, which light up at night.

This year, the Seven Dwarfs returned.
Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade
Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade is approximately 23 minutes long and is performed twice nightly, weather permitting. Performances are usually at 9:15 and 11:15 p.m., but check your guide map or the My Disney Experience App for the most up-to-date schedule.
The show has had a few changes this year. Minnie, Daisy, and Clarabelle debuted their “Hocus Pocus” Sanderson Sisters costumes, Farmer Goofy rides on the silo float, Wreck It Ralph and the Buzz Lightyear float were removed, Cruella is driven in her iconic car by Horace and Jasper, and more.
See more photos and our full video of the parade here.
Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Fireworks
An impressive life-size puppet of Jack Skellington hosts this not-so-spooky spectacular nightly during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Performances are typically at 10:15 p.m., but be sure to check your guide or app to verify.
See more photos and a full video of the fireworks here.
“Hocus Pocus” Villain Spelltacular
Join the Sanderson Sisters as they summon a host of Disney Villains and attempt to complete a spooky spell this Halloween. The show is performed on the Cinderella Castle Stage on party nights at 8:35 p.m., 10:45 p.m., and midnight.
See more photos and watch the full show here.
Cadaver Dans
When the crypt doors creak and the tombstones quake, the beloved barbershop quartet of Magic Kingdom transforms into the Cadaver Dans. Catch a mix of western ballads and spooky songs throughout the night in Frontierland.
Watch a full video of their set here.
Rusty Cutlass Pirate Band
Returning this year is Rusty Cutlass, a longtime favorite pirate band. They can be found at the Adventureland stage performing swashbuckling sea shanties.
See photos and video of their set here.
Ride Overlays
Three attractions have Halloween-themed “overlays” this year, with Pirates of the Caribbean losing the live actors. However, they can be found wandering Adventureland instead.
Space Mountain
Space Mountain is pitch black for the entire ride.
Mad Tea Party
Mad Tea Party features a special lighting package, spooky music, and evil laughter.
Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor
A short version of the show with a festive makeover is performed as guests go in and out. You can sit or just pass through, as this location features trick or treat stations at the entrance and exit.
Happy Halloween!
