Halloween Horror Nights 32 kicks off on September 1 at Universal Studios Florida, and preparations are well underway. Food booths themed to “The Last of Us”, giant spiders, and more have arrived.
Dr. Oddfellow’s Collection of Horror
A new wagon with a small stage has appeared for Dr. Oddfellow’s Collection of Horror. The scare zone will occupy the very front of the park in the area formerly known as Production Central.
With Minion Land taking over the former Avenue of the Stars, the frontmost scare zone has shifted into the space between Minion Land and Hollywood.
It’s a wooden wagon with faded paint and will likely be home to a mini-show. Typically the Scareactors stationed at the small stages have a more involved routine, such as murdering a “victim.” Being Dr. Oddfellow’s carnival, it may have a small macabre performance.
The wagon wheels are reminiscent of spiderweb.
The steps to reach the stage are themed to vintage travel trunks.
One side of the wagon has a faux door, while the other has a small porch and ladder.
The back of the wagon, as seen from the UNI-VRS store, has a small circus tent.
Jungle of Doom: Expedition Horror
Jungle of Doom: Expedition Horror is the scare zone taking over Central Park this year. Two giant spiders were added to the zone overnight.
They sit on either side of the entrance when approaching from Springfield, U.S.A. One is perched in a tree.
The other is atop some of the ruins.
Lombard’s Bar
The bar behind Lombard’s Seafood Grille is under construction. The trusses are now connected by a long horizontal pole.
This may be the location for Peacock’s Halloween Horror Bar, which is rumored to host a variety show, including SNL fan-favorite David S. Pumpkins.
Food Booths and Trailers
Universal Music Plaza
Two food trailers have arrived: one at the Universal Music Plaza (above) and one in Springfield outside Central Park (below).
Springfield
Battery Park – “The Last of Us”
Over in Battery Park, two booths themed to “The Last of Us” have arrived.
They are painted to look like reappropriated metal containers, complete with rust. The Fireflies have tagged both booths.
Blocks marked for FEDRA sit outside the booths, though the Fireflies have tagged their logo here as well.
