Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is scheduled to temporarily close later this month at Universal Studios Florida.
Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit Closing Temporarily
Rip Ride Rockit is a roller coaster in the New York section of the park, near Despicable Me Minion Mayhem and the new Villain-Con Minion Blast.
Originally opened in 2009, it is unique among coasters in Florida for allowing guests to choose the music they wish to listen to while they ride, as well as starting out with a vertical chain lift. When it is open, be advised: this ride is intense and reaches maximum speeds of 65 miles per hour.
The ride is set to close on August 14, with the closure scheduled to last through August 18. While the reason for the closure has not been shared, it is likely for annual refurbishment. A closure also happened around this same time last year.
Did you know this roller coaster has secret song selections beyond the regular assortment? You can check out our guide here.
To play any of the secret songs, simply pull down on the lap bar once you board the attraction, hold the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit logo in front of you for ten seconds, let go, and type in the three-digit code associated with the song when the number pad appears on the screen.
