“Coco”
Pixar’s “Coco” is based on an idea by Lee Unkrich. Unkrich developed the story with Adrian Molina, Matthew Aldrich, and Jason Katz. Molina and Aldrich wrote the screenplay and Unkrich and Molina directed the film. It was produced by Darla K. Anderson.
“Coco” follows Miguel Rivera (Anthony Gonzalez), whose great-great-grandmother (Alanna Ubach) banned music from the family after her musician husband left. Obsessed with music, Miguel steals a guitar from the tomb of famed musician Ernesto de la Cruz (Benjamin Bratt) on the Day of the Dead — which accidentally lands him in the Land of the Dead, where he meets many of his deceased family members. He teams up with down-on-his-luck skeleton Héctor (Gael García Bernal) to find a way back home.
