NEWS: A Critical Dining Reservation Update Has Just Landed on the Disneyland App

Lots of things are changing in Disney parks.

Disneyland Resort

New attractions are on the way, new restaurants are coming soon, and more! We also recently learned that Disney dining reservations would soon change, and now we’re seeing those changes on the Disneyland app.

Disney previously announced that it would change how guests find dining reservations on its mobile apps and website for both Disney World and Disneyland. Basically, when you search for a specific dining reservation, the change will allow you to see ALL of the available dining reservations for the restaurant and timeframe you’re looking for.

Previously, you would only see a few reservation times pop up if you specified a specific time frame when searching for reservations.

Well, we can now report that this change has already happened on the Disneyland app. We searched for reservations at Blue Bayou (you know, the restaurant that’s INSIDE Pirates of the Caribbean) for three guests for dinner, and got ALL available dinner times for Sunday, October 8th.

We got similar results when we used the “Check Dining Availability” feature in the app (you can find this by clicking on the “+” sign at the bottom of the app screen. You’ll choose your party size, date, and time, and get something that looks like this with all times listed.

If you don’t see these changes in the Disneyland app yet, you may need to make sure you have the latest version of the app — if not, you may need to update your app. Also, these changes have not yet been made if you’re looking for reservations on the Disneyland website. As a heads up, some of our team still didn’t see the changes even after updating, so it may still be rolling out slowly.

This will make reservations a little easier to find on the app, so you might even be able to score those harder-to-get restaurants. We’ll keep an eye out for more changes and let you know when they’ve made their way to the Disneyland website and the Disney World website and My Disney Experience app. So stay tuned to DFB for more.
