REVIEW: Coffee-and-Donut Churro Joins Halloween Offerings at Disney California Adventure
A new fall Coffee and Donut Churro has roared into Disney California Adventure as restaurants and stands around the park are introducing new Halloween and autumn-oriented treats.
The new Coffee and Donut Churro is available at the churro stand near Redwood Creek Challenge Trail.
*NEW* Coffee and Donut Churro – $7.25
Churro rolled in coffee sugar and topped with coffee-infused chocolate sauce, whipped topping, and seasonal sprinkles
If you’re a fan of coffee-flavored desserts or coffee, in general, you’re going to love this churro. The coffee flavor is prevalent and is definitely the start of the dish, with the chocolate flavor being largely relegated to the sauce and blending with the coffee sugar-coated churros to create an almost mocha sensation.
While we loved the heavy coffee flavor, we have to admit that this churro won’t be for everyone. If you generally avoid coffee or don’t like coffee-flavored items, this treat won’t check any boxes for you.
The quality of the churros themselves also left a bit to be desired. They were a tad stale (perhaps due to the heat) and quite soggy due to the abundance of whipped topping placed along the top.
It’s a fun, simple dish that would’ve been a bigger win for us on a cooler day with less whipped topping, but if coffee isn’t your thing, it’s probably best to avoid this one.
Halloween offerings at Disneyland will be available through November 9.

REVIEW: New Candy Corn Churro and Returnin’ Slow Burnin’ Mac & Cheese Cone Roll Into Cozy Cone Motel for Halloween in Disney California Adventure
The Cozy Cone Motel has a new Candy Corn Churro and the returning Slow Burnin’ Mac & Cheese Cone for Halloween at Disney California Adventure.
Cozy Cone Motel
The Cozy Cone Motel is in Cars Land across from Flo’s V-8 Cafe.
Halloween Menu
- Candy Corn Churro – $6.79 (Cone #1)
- Slow Burnin’ Mac & Cheese Cone – $10.49 (Cone #3)
*NEW* Candy Corn Churro – $6.79 (Cone #1)
Orange and Yellow Sugar-covered Churro topped with Vanilla Icing and Candy Corn
It being a warm day at Disney California Adventure admittedly did this dish no favors, but we cannot recommend the Candy Corn Churro in the state we tried it.
The churros left a lot to be desired. They’re your standard Disneyland Resort churros, only coated in colored sugar. They were stale and covered in a syrupy vanilla icing that immediately turned to soup due to the heat. The icing itself isn’t terrible and isn’t overly sweet, but we would’ve preferred it to come in a cup as a dipping sauce, as that would’ve allowed for each bite to have the perfect amount of sweetness as determined by the consumer.
The candy corn does add a bit of sweetness and texture for those who enjoy that festive treat and can easily be removed by those who don’t. The churros are not awful and perhaps would’ve been better on a cooler day (or simply fresh), but going off what we tried, we think there are far better churro options elsewhere at Disneyland Resort.
Slow Burnin’ Mac & Cheese Cone – $10.49 (Cone #3)
Pasta with spicy Red Pepper Cheese Sauce, topped with Chili-Cheese Puffs
It’s fantastic. A spicy version of the solid Disneyland counter service mac and cheese with a lot more flavor from red pepper cheese sauce. The bread cone wasn’t bad, either.
Halloween offerings at Disneyland will be available through November 9.

REVIEW: Created in the Lab Sundae and Alcoholic Ice Cream Floats Arrive for Halloween at Clarabelle’s in Disney California Adventure
Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream is offering two new alcoholic ice cream floats and the new Created in the Lab Sundae for Halloween at Disney California Adventure.
Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream
Clarabelle’s is located on Buena Vista Street between Trolley Treats and Fiddler, Fifer, & Practical Cafe.
Halloween Menu
- Created in the Lab Sundae – $10.79
- Pumpkin Ale Hard Float – $18
- Apple Strudel Hard Float – $18
*NEW* Created in the Lab Sundae – $10.79
Vanilla Ice Cream, Strawberry Sauce, Licorice Laces and Whipped Topping
This sundae is by no means earth-shattering, but it’s a perfectly acceptable dessert. It’s tasty.
The licorice is wearing multiple hats here; its stitch-like in appearance, giving this sundae its spooky monster aesthetic. It’s also strawberry flavored, effectively complementing the sauce interspersed throughout and contributing to this treat’s cohesive strawberry flavor. It’s even small enough to pick around if licorice isn’t your thing.
The ice cream is sweet and the strawberry flavor is consistent and welcomed. It’s a simple, but tasty strawberry sundae — if you like them, you’ll like this. Our biggest issue is the price, as while a solid portion is provided, $11 does seem a bit steep for what you get.
*NEW* Pumpkin Ale Hard Float – $18
Elysian Brewing Night Owl Pumpkin Ale with Maple Ice Cream and Seasonal Garnish.
We expected this to be quite tasty, as the Pumpkin Down Float, another pumpkin-based beverage typically offered during the Halloween season at Disneyland Resort, is always delicious. Unfortunately, the Pumpkin Ale Hard Float is a rare miss for Clarabelle’s. The beer itself is what’s holding this float back, as the Night Owl Pumpkin Ale from Elysian Brewing is just too bitter of a base.
The maple ice cream scooped inside is good by itself, but can’t save the bitterness of the beer. This float could’ve been a real winner had the same ice cream been combined with a better pumpkin beer, but in its current form, we think you can pass on it.
*NEW* Apple Strudel Hard Float – $18
Honest Abe Hard Apple Cider with Apple Strudel Ice Cream and Caramel Drizzle.
This is, without a doubt, the best offering on Clarabelle’s new Halloween menu. All of the flavors complement each other; the Honest Abe Hard Apple Cider serves as a light and crisp pool for the sweet apple strudel ice cream, creating a cohesive float that’s genuinely refreshing. There’s even a bit of texture present, as there are welcomed apple and strudel chunks in the ice cream. The cup can get a bit messy because of the caramel drizzle, but the extra napkins are worth it — this float is a winner.
Halloween offerings at Disneyland will be available through November 9.

PHOTOS: New Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Serving Dishes Set Appears at Walt Disney World
A new set of resort-themed hospitality serving dishes is now available at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
We found the set for sale in Boutiki.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort 6-Piece Hospitality Set – $99.99
This new hospitality dish features a coconut-shaped centerpiece, with four leaf-shaped smaller serving plates arranged around a center platform.
The coconut centerpiece has the logo for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort embossed on it.
There is also a blue-green hibiscus flower molded onto the coconut.
Two smaller leaves are molded onto the opposite side, both in brown.
The inside is glazed with an off-white color.
Removing the coconut centerpiece, another bowl is found underneath.
The logo for the resort is also embossed inside the bowl. More blue hibiscus flowers surround it on the four leaves that extend out from the bottom of the bowl.
The leaf-shaped serving plates are quite detailed, and show some slight weathering as an added touch.
Here’s a quick look at the previously-released hospitality set, though this one includes 7 pieces.
This set was released as part of a merchandise collection celebrating 50 years of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Both sets are priced at the same amount.
