A collection of “Coco” marigold and sugar skull merchandise has arrived at Disneyland with plenty of time to add it to your Día de los Muertos celebrations.

‘Coco’ Marigold and Sugar Skull Mug – $19.99

We spotted this mug at the Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A.

The mug has an allover print of marigolds, maracas, sugar skulls, and music notes.

Miguel in his face paint from the movie is on one side of the mug.

The mug is dishwasher and microwave safe and holds 16 ounces.

“Coco” Marigold and Sugar Skull Travel Tumbler – $29.99

This travel tumbler was also at the Emporium.

The tumbler features Ernesto de la Cruz.

The back of the mug is printed with the sugar skulls, marigolds, and other details used on this and other pieces in the collection.

The lid of the tumbler is clear plastic and has a slide and removable clear plastic straw. The tumbler is not microwave safe and should be hand-washed. It holds 17 ounces.

‘Coco’ Marigold and Sugar Skull Seize Your Moment Zip Hoodie – $59.99

This hoodie was hanging near some Halloween items at the Emporium.

The dusty blue hoodie has a front zipper and a blue tie for the hood.

The left breast is embroidered with the film’s colorful logo.

The allover print has marigolds and sugar skulls in the background of the design, printed in blue. Miguel is scattered in a pattern, as he appears in his face paint in the Land of the Dead.

The hems of the sleeves are not printed with the design.

The hood for the hoodie has embroidery on the edge.

The embroidery reads: “Seize your moment.”

‘Coco’ Marigold and Sugar Skull Ear Headband – $34.99

We saw these ears at The Mad Hatter in Fantasyland.

The ears are black with the same sugar skull and marigold design we’ve noticed on other items in this collection.

The center of the ears has a sugar skull and is surrounded by stylized marigold flowers.

The black ears are embossed with the sugar skull and marigold design.

The back of the ears are also embossed. The exposed sewn edges with punched holes are reminiscent of the edging on papel picado hung on ofrendas as families celebrate Día de los Muertos.

‘Coco’ El Amor Nunca Muere Tie-Dye T-Shirt – $39.99

Though it isn’t part of the marigold and sugar skull collection, this T-shirt was with the other new arrivals at the Emporium and we hadn’t seen it before.

The shirt is tie-dyed and has a printed design on the front.

The shirt says, “El amor nunca muere,” which translates to “love never dies.” Imelda and Héctor are featured in the heart-shaped tattoo-inspired design.

The sleeve of the t-shirt is embroidered with the logo from the film.

The back of the shirt is plain. The shirt’s tags indicate that the dye process will produce variations in garments and that these differences are normal, with no two shirts alike. It also says that the dye process can transfer to other clothing and should be laundered separately several times to ensure this doesn’t happen.

Compared to other hotels in Orlando that aren’t in the theme park, most Disney World hotels are considered quite expensive.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

The truth of the matter is that while they’re all expensive, they’re separated into three categories — Value (the least expensive), Moderate (middle of the road), and Deluxe (the most expensive). Some Deluxe rooms can easily cost up to $1,000 a night and while they come with proximity to the parks and other luxury amenities, even after three years, this one amenity is STILL missing.

Room service is a popular offering at just about every luxury hotel, but when the parks reopened after the pandemic closure in 2020, room service didn’t return. And although it’s been three years, room service still isn’t available at ANY Disney World hotels.

Polynesian Village Bungalows

While other amenities like extra theme park hours, beautiful rooms with exquisite theming, and more have returned, room service is not on that list. And why is that? Well, Disney hasn’t released any specific statement as to why room service has not returned, but this was a significant perk that many guests enjoyed, and we know it’s already being missed by many.

Grand Floridian Resort

You’re already paying so much for your Disney World room, especially at a Deluxe resort, and while room service certainly isn’t free, the convenience of being able to call from your room to get it delivered so you can avoid walking all over the resort after you’ve walked thousands of steps during the day is a HUGE perk.

This is especially wild when you consider that room service has returned to Disney Cruise Line vacations, which can be just as expensive as staying at a deluxe resort with your family for a few days.

Now there are plenty of delicious resort restaurants available at these deluxe resorts, both quick service and table service restaurants alike. These spots do have some of the best hotel restaurants on property, so trying them out whether you’re staying at the hotel or not, can be a great decision.

So, Disney, what’s going on? Will we ever see room service return? Will we see it come back with the Disney Dining Plan in 2024? Of course, we won’t get an answer from Disney until they decide to give one, but in the meantime, be sure to take this into account if you’re thinking of booking a stay at a Deluxe resort. The new Mickey Mouse Dooney & Bourke collection inspired by the first-ever Mickey cartoon, “Plane Crazy,” and Mickey’s Toontown is now available at The Dress Shop in the Downtown Disney District. A Disney100 platinum collection is also available, with the tote limited to Magic Key Holders.

Mickey Mouse Dooney & Bourke Crossbody – $248

The four bags in this collection are white with red handles and detailing. A golden Dooney & Bourke plaque is on the front of each. The crossbody includes an adjustable strap and has a small zip pocket on the outside.

General Mickey Mouse art and iconography adorn each bag; there’s Mickey’s name, his logo, and a stylized version of his house as it appears in Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland, among other illustrations. The bags also take direct inspiration from “Plane Crazy,” the 1928 short film directed by Walt Disney and Ub Iweks that was the first Mickey Mouse cartoon ever animated (though it wasn’t the first to be released — that distinction belongs to “Steamboat Willie”).

The shoddy plane that Mickey flies in “Plane Crazy” is depicted on the bags; in the cartoon, Mickey can barely get the aircraft off the ground before crashing it into a tree, which is also part of this line’s artwork. The plane is shown flying a banner that reads “It All Started With A Mouse,” a popular misquote of the Walt Disney quote: 

I only hope that we never lose sight of one thing: that it was all started by a mouse.

Minnie Mouse also makes an appearance on the design in the Mickey Mouse Dooney & Bourke bags, and her depiction is lifted directly from “Plane Crazy.” In the short, Minnie joins Mickey on his flight, choosing to leave the plane after Mickey proves to be a poor pilot. Minnie uses her clothing as a parachute as she slowly falls to the ground; Mickey, on the other hand, crashes into another tree.

The interior lining is solid red.

The three large bags also have a red leather tag debossed with “Disney” on one side. Mickey and Minnie are pictured on the other side.

This larger handbag is rounded with two handles on the top around the main zip-up pocket. A small zip-up pocket is on the outside.

Mickey Mouse Dooney & Bourke Wristlet Wallet – $188

The wallet is a reasonable size to use as a clutch or to put in a purse. It has a red detachable wrist strap.

The interior lining is red and has a zipper pouch.

Mickey Mouse Dooney & Bourke Tote – $268

The Mickey Mouse Dooney & Bourke Tote is the largest bag in the collection.

The front of the bag is adorned with the signature gold Dooney & Bourke logo, with a removable Disney tag attached to the handle.

The Mickey Mouse Dooney & Bourke Tote has contrasting red shoulder straps with white stitching. These straps are of a fixed length.

The edges of the bag have contrasting red stitching.

It has a single large exterior pocket on the back of the bag.

Like the other bags, the main pocket zips up to secure your belongings inside.

The interior of the bag has a zippered pocket to help organize belongings. The zipper pull is the same contrasting red as the shoulder straps. The inside of the bag is also red.

Now, we move on to the Disney100 Platinum assortment of bags.

Disney100 Platinum Satchel – $368

The Disney100 bags are platinum, with light shades of grey, silver, white, and blue in a diamond pattern across them.

The satchel has an exterior pocket with a strap detail and a Mickey-shaped metal clasp.

Within the diamonds of the pattern are various classic Disney characters, such as Stitch, Tinker Bell, Peter Pan, Bambi, Baloo, Alice, Winnie the Pooh, and Jiminy Cricket. They are pictured in full detail and as silhouettes.

The bags include leather tags featuring the silver Art Deco Disney100 logo on one side.

The interior lining is solid grey.

It has two handles, a large zip-up pocket, and rings for a removable shoulder strap. The bottom of the bag has metal feet to protect the bag’s surface from wear and tear. On the other side are Mickey and Minnie.

Disney100 Platinum Bucket Bag – $348

The bucket bag has one handle and a closure strap with a Mickey-shaped clasp. There’s a slot pocket on the back. The shoulder strap for this bag is grey, as is the interior, and a small zip-up pocket is inside.

Disney100 Platinum Crossbody Bag – $228

The design on the crossbody bag is similar, with the diamond character pattern and metal Mickey bag clasp.

The strap stops on the other side of the bag, leaving the back with more unbroken surface area for the character design.

The Disney100 tag is attached to the crossbody strap metal ring.

The bottom of this bag is grey.

The tag is printed with the Disney100 logo on this side.

The ink is iridescent and even the fine lines of the design pick up the light in the store.

The back of the tag sees Mickey and Minnie greeting each other.

Magic Key Disney100 Platinum Tote – $368

The Magic Key Holder premiere-exclusive tote is the largest bag in the collection.

The shop’s signs indicate that this bag is exclusively available to Magic Key Holders until October 28, or while supplies last. The bags are limited to one per Magic Key Holder.

This bag features the same diamond pattern as the others in the collection.

The clasp for this bag is the same size as the one used on the other bags; because this bag is larger, it appears as a more subtle detail.

The back of the Disney100 tag bears the Magic Key and Disneyland logos printed on it in the same iridescent ink.

The handles and clasp end high on the back, leaving an uninterrupted surface of the diamond pattern design.

The bottom and sides of this bag are silver. The bag has small metal feet to protect the bottom from wear.

In terms of location, there have been several closures and moves at Disney Springs recently. Everything But Water and lululemon both recently closed to move to different storefronts. Lululemon is taking over the former location of UGG, which closed permanently. Everything But Water could move to the old lululemon store and Rothy’s could take over the former Everything But Water storefront, which is in the Disney Springs Town Center.

• Also at this event, we were able to have a first look at several new pin sets and designs, including 2024 dated offerings for Walt Disney World and Disneyland.
• Next up, we saw 2023 Haunted Mansion Holiday and “it’s a small world” Holiday pins for the first time.
• Marvel was included, too, with a new Disney100 Marvel Comics “What If…?” pin set commemorating classic comic book covers.
• To prepare for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom, and the various Festivals of the Holidays at EPCOT & Disney California Adventure, special pins specific to those events also made their debut.
• Keeping with the holiday festivities, various other pins for the season were unveiled, including offerings for the Disney Parks, Disney Vacation Club, Disney Cruise Line, and more.
• Finally, the 2024 “Disney After Dark” pin trading event was announced, with a new poster revealed for the occasion.

• A new Disney100 Decades Collection 1980s “The Black Cauldron” MagicBand+ has arrived at Walt Disney World.

• New credit card readers with built-in cameras are being introduced at Walt Disney World stores.

Disneyland Resort

• The new Star Wars Bantha Burgers Loungefly purse and visor have arrived in Disneyland, emulating the style of McDonald’s Happy Meals.
• The Walt Disney World 2024 attraction poster calendar featuring the art of live entertainment also debuted at Disneyland Resort — yes, all of the images are in fact from experiences found in Florida.

Entertainment and Media

• After initially reneging on an earlier release date, the brand-new Disney Lorcana trading card game will now be sold at Walt Disney World and Disneyland this Monday, August 28.
• Speaking of Lorcana, limited stock for its early release has led to difficult decisions for local game shops, high resales, and mass market embargo violations with markups and big box stores selling the product before their approved September 1 date.
