Frozone Meet and Greet Moves at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The Frozone meet and greet has moved slightly at the recently reopened Pixar Place in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Frozone, Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, and Sully all appear in Pixar Place, while guests can visit Edna Mode at The Edna Mode Experience.

Frozone Meet and Greet

In early 2023, Frozone from “The Incredibles” was greeting guests near the front of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. When Pixar Place reopened, he was meeting in front of a plain brick wall. He’s now in front of a painted mural near the front of Pixar Place, not far from the Neighborhood Bakery food cart.

Pixar Place History and Closure

Before Toy Story Land was added to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Pixar Place was an area of the park where guests could enter the queue for Toy Story Midway Mania and also find meet-and-greet photo ops with Buzz and Woody. Then when construction on Toy Story Land was finally complete, both the entrance to Toy Story Midway Mania and photo ops with Toy Story characters were moved over into that land.

After the Toy Story characters left, the Pixar Place location was turned into a Municiberg city block from the Pixar film “The Incredibles”. Here you could find a meet-and-greet with Edna Mode, purchase Jack-Jack’s Num Num Cookies, and even occasionally get a glimpse of popular characters from the film like Mr. and Mrs. Incredible or Frozone.

After the park closed in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, the area became devoid of characters and attractions. Even after nearly three years had passed since the rest of the park reopened, Pixar Place remained a dead-end area. It finally reopened with some updates in May 2023.

Watch our video from the reopening of Pixar Place below.

Voice-Activated Talking Chucky Popcorn Bucket Coming Soon for Halloween Horror Nights 32

To commemorate Halloween Horror Nights 32, a voice-activated talking Chucky popcorn bucket will soon be available for guests to purchase and use during their frightful excursions to Universal Studios Florida.

The latest Halloween popcorn bucket was shown on an Instagram post from socalpals323.

The price is currently unknown, as well as whether or not this souvenir will also be available at Universal Studios Hollywood. Last year, for HHN 31, a popcorn bucket inspired by Día de los Muertos and another emulating Frankenstein appeared for the popular Halloween event.

Halloween Horror Nights 32

Universal Orlando Resort celebrates Halloween with the annual Halloween Horror Nights event. HHN 32 commences on September 1, 2023, and runs on select nights through November 4. There will be 10 haunted houses in Orlando, including:

  • Stranger Things 4
  • The Exorcist: Believer
  • The Last of Us
  • Chucky: Ultimate Kill Count
  • Universal Monsters: Unmasked
  • Dr. Oddfellow’s Twisted Origins

01 Dr. Oddfellows Collection of Horror

There will also be five scare zones:

Halloween Horror Nights is also offered at Universal Studios Hollywood.

2023 halloween tribute store facade 4080

Several decorations have recently appeared around Universal Studios Florida in preparation for Halloween Horror Nights 32. The 2023 Halloween Tribute Store facade was recently installed in the New York section of the park; the store, themed this year to a “mysterious NYC Comic Book Shop,” will open when HHN 32 commences and can be previewed by Annual Passholders on August 30.

Portals have also recently appeared around Universal Studios Florida. They will ultimately indicate the entry points to the haunted houses and will contain house names, wait times, and warnings.

A frequent flier at HHN, Chucky hasn’t had his own house in Florida since 2009 (though he did have a scare zone at HHN 28). He’s made many appearances in between, including a photo op for the past two years. This year, he is returning.

Will you be adding Chucky to your popcorn bucket collection? Let us know in the comments.

PHOTOS: Minion Land Sign Updated, Minions’ Hair Made Less Sharp and Pointy at Universal Studios Florida

The sign for Minion Land at Universal Studios Florida has received a small update, in which some of the Minions’ pointy hair has been flattened or shortened and rounded off.

Minion Land Sign Updated

Previously, the Evil Minion’s purple hair was quite pointy, and extended over the edge of the fencing.

Now, the points of its hair have been rounded off, and the hair no longer extends over the fence.

Here’s what the Evil Minion’s hair looked like prior to the sign update. As you can see, the points of the hair are very prickly, and long enough to go over the fence.

The Minion dangling off the ladder on the right also got a hair update.

Previously, its hair was pointing straight up like small spikes, and now the hair is laid flat on its head.

In this photo from when the sign was first unveiled back in May, you can see what this Minion’s hair used to look like on the far left.

Last week, the Minion dangling off of the ladder was covered with yellow tarp.

Presumably, this was to allow for crews to work on the static figure without disrupting guests’ view of the rest of the sign.

Disney+ Original Series ‘Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.’ Canceled After Two Seasons

“Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.”, the Disney+ original series, has been canceled after just two seasons.

“Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.” Canceled on Disney Plus

Five months after the second season of “Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.” premiered on Disney+, multiple sources are reporting that the series has been cancelled.

TVLine and Deadline both report that the series was not renewed for a third season. Disney+ did not provide any comments to TVLine when asked about the cancellation.

Created and executive produced by Kourtney Kang, the series is a coming-of-age live-action medical half-hour dramedy, featuring themes of death, dating, and family dynamics. Set in Hawai’i, the series follows 16-year-old Lahela Kamealoha (Peyton Elizabeth Lee) as she navigates her complex, fast-paced world of a burgeoning medical career and growing up. She is lovingly called “Doogie Kamealoha” by her friends and family.

The series is a reboot of Neil Patrick Harris’s “Doogie Howser, M.D.” television medical drama series from the 1990s. The reboot’s cast also included Jason Scott Lee, Alex Aiono, Al Harrington, Kathleen Rose Perkins, Ronny Chieng, Matthew Sato, Wes Tian, Emma Meisel, Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, and Mapuana Makia.

“Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.” featured a star-studded guest list, including Barry Bostwick, Alyson Hannigan, Margaret Cho, Randall Park, Daniel Dae Kim, and Max Greenfield.

Other Recent Disney+ Cancellations

“Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.” isn’t the only show to come under the axe recently. Disney+ canceled “National Treasure: Edge of History” after just one season earlier this year. The series had received positive feedback from viewers despite negative critical reception.

Disney has canceled multiple other series after one or two seasons, including “Big Shot,” “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers,” “Mysterious Benedict Society,” “Diary of A Future President,” and “Turner & Hooch.”

Willow Fire

Only two months after the end of season one, Willow was also rejected for additional content.

Recent Budget Adjustments to Disney+ Content

Bob Iger Layoffs March 2023 1

Company CEO Bob Iger has recently been considering selling aspects of the streaming service, according to recent comments. The adjustments here may be in line with these shifts to tighten content on the streaming service.

According to Bloomberg, Iger wants to completely sell or restructure Disney’s TV and streaming business in India. This is actually where Disney+ has had the biggest losses. Disney+ Hotstar, the region’s version of Disney+, lost streaming rights to Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket matches, leading to the service losing 3.8 million subscribers in quarter one and 4.6 million subscribers in quarter two.

Iger does plan to hold onto Hulu, and Disney will launch a combined app for Hulu and Disney+ later this year. The streaming services will still have their own separate apps, at least for now. Disney will more than likely buy Comcast’s 33% stake in Hulu in 2024.

Are you disappointed to see Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. clock out? Let us know in the comments.
