Did you hear the news? A new section of Disney California Adventure is set to open this month!
And part of Port of San Fransokyo, inspired by the same city from Big Hero 6, has already opened! You can now try out three new restaurants here, and we headed to all three to try some of the new eats and drinks.
Port of San Fransokyo Cervecería
First up is Port of San Fransokyo Cervecería, where we grabbed the Garlic and Pinwheels Chip Mix for $6.49.
The pinwheels are salty with a bit of a kick at the end, which we enjoyed, while the garlic chips are salty at first, then give way to that garlic taste.
If you’re a fan of salty snacks with some extra kicks to them, we think these are great to walk around the park with! However, we suggest making sure you have a drink with you, and if garlic isn’t your thing, maybe stay away.
Cocina Cucamonga
We also stopped by Cocina Cucamonga to grab two new items. First up was the San Fransokyo Style Street Corn for $8.99. This is made with Togarashi Mayonnaise, Queso Fresco, Furikake, and Bonito Flakes, served with Spiced Wheat Chicharrones.
At first, we just tasted the corn and cheese, followed by a little bit of spice from the mayo. The furikake added a little bit of a fishy/seafood taste that we weren’t huge fans of, but it wasn’t too strong. The corn has a sweet flavor and was served fresh and warm, which we loved!
The wheat chicharrones are the same as we got in the Garlic and Pinwheels Mix, so be ready for a hint of spice. Overall, if you love street corn and/or you’re looking to try something new, we totally suggest picking this up!
Then we grabbed the Melon Cocktail for $16 to wash it down. This is made with Tequila, Melon Liqueur, Fresh Lemon Juice, Orgeat, and topped with a Cherry.
This drink is very refreshing! There’s a strong melon taste with a hint of citrus, which means you can’t really taste the tequila. The orgeat added a sweet flowery flavor as well, but it wasn’t too strong.
If you love melon and/or refreshing drinks, give this one a try — we didn’t have any complaints!
Rita’s Turbine Blenders
Our last stop was Rita’s Turbine Blenders to grab Rita’s Lemon Lime Margarita for $14.50, which also comes with a Strawberry Cream-covered Cocoa Biscuit Stick.
This is the same drink the spot had before, but now with the strawberry cookie. It reminds us of a lemon-lime Gatorade but with a little bit of a tequila taste. The rim was salted, and the drink itself had a slushie texture.
The frosting off the cookie melted in and added a hint of strawberry to the first few sips, so keep that in mind. If you love citrus flavors and margaritas, give this one a try. If you want a non-alcoholic option, you can grab the Turbine Twirler – Blue Raspberry for $6.49 instead, which comes with a Peach gummy ring.
This has a very sweet and strong blue raspberry flavor. It reminded us of a melted blue raspberry Icee, and the peach rings just sit at the bottom and don’t really add any flavor.
This is a fun and sweet drink for kids, or people who don’t want alcohol, but keep in mind that your mouth WILL be blue!
Be sure to stop by this new spot to try all the different food and drinks there are to explore and stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disneyland news!
