The Cinderella Cupcake has returned to Contempo Café at Disney’s Contemporary Resort for World Princess Week 2023. This annual celebration honors Disney Princesses and real-life women from August 20 through 26.
The Cinderella Cupcake is available through the end of August.
Cinderella Cupcake – $5.99
Vanilla cupcake filled with vanilla crème custard topped with buttercream, white chocolate slipper, and fondant pumpkin
This cupcake is always beautiful, with buttercream reminiscent of Cinderella’s ballgown, a shiny blue “glass” slipper chocolate piece, and orange pumpkin on top.
The pumpkin may be pretty but like all fondant, it’s unpleasant to eat and tastes like Play-Doh. The white chocolate glass slipper makes up for the pumpkin, though. It’s a lovely sweet treat.
In 2020, this cupcake had a pumpkin custard center. When it returned in 2022, it had vanilla custard and that has remained. It’s not as unique and themed as the original pumpkin center, but it’s still nice overall.
The yellow cake is super moist and the blue buttercream isn’t too sweet. Plus, it’s fresh and doesn’t overload the cupcake. We’re happy to keep coming back for this year after year.
There are several princess-themed treats available at Walt Disney World Resort this month. We also reviewed the new Ariel Milkshake at Beaches & Cream Soda Shop, DOLE Whip Rapunzel Cone at Disney Springs, Snow White Cupcake at Disney’s Old Key West Resort, and “Moana” Heart of Te Fiti Cupcake at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Walt Disney World is also hosting a Make-A-Wish ball for World Princess Week. How are you celebrating the occasion? Let us know in the comments.
