For those of you who love Disney World and love the FOOD that you can get at Disney World, it’s a really exciting time!
The Disney Dining Plan (DDP) will return on January 9th, 2024, for those staying at Disney World hotels. Not only this, but Park Pass Reservations will no longer be required for most guests after this date. We expect these two things to make snagging reservations at fan-favorite dining locations harder. For most popular restaurants across Disney World property, Disney requires Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs), which can be made up to 60 days in advance of your visit. Some of these restaurants will SERIOUSLY require you to wake up at 6AM on the 60-day mark to select your dining locations, or else your chances of grabbing a reservation are slim to none. If you’re wondering which restaurants you should be on your A-game in order to grab, then keep reading.
If you’re hoping for a reservation at any of these 7 dining locations at Disney World, we suggest marking your calendars and setting an alarm for bright and early on that 60-day mark. Let’s go!
Roundup Rodeo BBQ
Roundup Rodeo BBQ opened in Toy Story Land in early 2023. Here, you can get an all-you-care-to-enjoy meal served family-style — all while feeling like you’re in Andy’s backyard. A lot of the food here is good, but what’s really drawing people in is the elaborate theming.
You’re surrounded by larger-than-life props that make you feel like you’re the size of a toy, the Cast Members play fun games with the restaurant guests, and even the food is themed! Since this restaurant is so new, and since it is themed to one of the most popular Disney-Pixar movies of all time, we’re going to guess that it’ll be pretty difficult to grab a reservation here, even throughout 2024.
Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya
Located in EPCOT’s Japan Pavilion, you’ll find Shiki-Sai, which replaced Tokyo Dining. This all-new sushi spot opened in August 2023, and it boasts a menu filled with options that suit a lot of different palettes and budgets.
Not only is the food here delicious, but it’s also really new, so that alone is going to really draw people in. If you’re hoping to eat here in 2024, we’d recommend trying to get a reservation as soon as you’re able!
California Grill
Located at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, California Grill is a popular choice for many Disney World visitors for both the delicious food and the views of Disney World.
The experience here is pretty special, as you’re given a prix-fixe meal with each dish inspired by cuisine native to California — the birthplace of the Walt Disney Company! Reservations here are typically hard to come by if you wait too long, and we expect this to be the case in 2024 as well.
‘Ohana
Located in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, ‘Ohana is one of those restaurants that is popular for multiple reasons. The food is good, the views are good, and you can even meet Lilo and Stitch at breakfast time.
You can join for both breakfast and lunch — both of which serve meals in family-style skillets. This restaurant has been a popular choice for both meals for a looooong time, and that’ll be the case in 2024 as well. Try to grab breakfast before you grab dinner, because that’s a bit more popular because of the character meet and greet.
Topolino’s Terrace
Topolino’s Terrace is located at Disney’s Riviera Resort and serves a variety of Italian-inspired cuisine for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast here is considerably more popular, as you can meet Mickey and friends dressed up as artists!
The food is also great, too, for both meals. While snagging a reservation could be tough for both times of day, breakfast ones typically go faster.
Space 220 and Space 220 Lounge
Space 220 Restaurant and Space 220 Lounge are both in EPCOT, near Mission: Space and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. The hype here isn’t really for the food, but rather for the atmosphere. To enter the restaurant, you’ll be “launched” up in a sort of elevator so that you can dine in space!
You can also dine at Space 220 Lounge, which features smaller bites and some cocktails. Getting reservations at either of these is next to impossible unless you act FAST on the day that reservations become available for your desired date.
Chef Mickey’s
Located at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Chef Mickey’s is home to one of Disney World’s most popular character meals. For breakfast, lunch, and dinner, you can dine alongside Mickey and friends with a view of the Monorail, which glides through the resort.
The food here is okay, it’s good, but not marvelous. People come here for the character meet and greet experience. Getting reservations here can be difficult, but it’s not impossible!
