Disney is known for its storytelling, and that’s because they do an amazing job of weaving a tapestry of fairy tales with the familiar nostalgia of family, emotions, and connections.
We love revisiting these stories again and again, and we also love when Disney nods to one story within the context of another. Whether referred to as “Easter Eggs” or “cameos” or “secrets”, there is a certain in joy in noticing these in the films or the parks, and hopefully just as much joy as the Imagineers had in placing them there!
Many folks may already know the story about A113 and how that was the classroom room number at California Institute of the Arts that many animators had classes in that went on to work for Disney or Pixar (or both!). That little nod and seeing it pop up in Pixar film after Pixar film feels like you’re being let in on a little inside joke among the animators.
Frozen is not only a super popular animated film because of the beauty of the animation, the enchanting music, and the charming story of these royal sisters, but it’s so fun as you journey through the films to see some fun nods to other films in Frozen and Frozen 2. Did anyone not laugh hysterically when Olaf retold the Frozen story in Frozen 2 and parodied some other Disney films?
But Olaf acting out The Little Mermaid, Lion King, and Moana weren’t the only times that other Disney stories merged into the Frozen storyline. Many viewers noticed a quick nod to Rapunzel from Tangled in Frozen.
No, no! Not THAT Rapunzel, THIS one:
Have you seen this scene with Rapunzel and Eugene arriving in Arendelle for Elsa’s coronation celebration? And she’s not the only Disney princess who was invited to the royal celebration.
No, not that one!
We’re talkin’ about a certain Nola princess who always digs a little deeper, has her own special gumbo recipe, and magical man-catchin’ beignet recipe.
Yep, the one and only Tiana! Now, you might be asking where you can find her in the film. Take a careful look at the scene after Elsa’s coronation during the party in the ballroom.
Do you see that familiar green dress behind Anna? Could that be Tiana?! Of course, we don’t see her face, so, it’s hard to be 100% certain, but the green hue of the dress, the little blossoms that embellish the bottom of her skirt are definitely giving us those bayou blossom vibes.
We love finding these fun details in the films and in the parks and sharing them with you! Keep following DFB for more Disney news, updates, and fun stuff!
