Magic Kingdom is about to change even MORE in 2024.
We talk about Disney changes all the time, but that’s because the park is always evolving! Disney released tons of news at their Destination D23 event earlier this month, and confirmed a lot of news we’re excited to see come to fruition. So let’s talk about 3 of the huge changes that are coming to Magic Kingdom next year.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Right at the top of the list is Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, because we are SO excited for this new ride to open. This is a new reimagining of the ride building where Splash Mountain was housed for many years. Soon we’ll get to help Tiana prepare for her Mardi Gras party by finding her last missing ingredient!
There’s no exact timeline for this ride yet, but we expect it to open in late 2024.
If you’re really wanting to experience this new attraction when you visit, we suggest either waiting for Disney to announce an official timeline or planning your trip for the end of next year.
No More Park Passes
Now, this change is technically coming for all the parks, but Magic Kingdom is often one of the first parks to sell out on busy days, so you’ll be thrilled to know that there will be no more park pass reservations needed for guests with date-based tickets starting January 9th, 2024!
We know so many guests are thrilled about this change because park pass reservations are just an added stressor to your vacation. However, remember that this only goes into effect on January 9th — not at the very beginning of the year.
There are still a few exceptions where park pass reservations will be needed, but those are for guests who can pop into the park whenever they please, such as having an Annual Pass. You’ll also need them if you’re traveling with a student, sport, or convention group.
The NEW Country Bear Jamboree
Disney also announced at their Destination D23 event that Country Bear Jamboree will be getting a makeover in Magic Kingdom.
The bears will get an all-new show featuring their usual songs in new styles like country, rockabilly, and bluegrass. We do know for sure that we’ll be seeing “Bare Necessities” in a rockabilly style!
The show will be a take on classic variety shows you can see in Nashville, Tennessee. At this time there’s no set timeline for this new reimagining of the show, but we do know it’ll arrive in the park sometime in 2024.
