An Iconic Disney Dessert Just Got a Makeover!

Halloween has officially arrived in the Disney parks and we couldn’t be more excited!

It’s Halloween!

We’ve been checking out all the special eats and treats along with entertainment, exclusive parties, and more at both Disneyland and Disney World, and we’re not done yet. More Halloween eats have rolled out and we’re bringing you along to try them with us!

It’s time to head over to Jolly Holiday in Disneyland Park for some more Halloween treats! We stopped by to check them all out — starting with the Poison Apple Macaron for $7.99.

It’s an apple-shaped macaron filled with salted caramel and apple compote. We thought this was an adorable little snack and a cute take on a macaron. The salted caramel was sweet mixed with the apple compote, but this was definitely more along the spiced apple route. Beware — that green frosting might stain ya!

That wasn’t the only apple treat we tried — we also snagged the Apple Crisp Croissant for $7.99. It’s a croissant stuffed with vanilla pastry cream and apples and topped with streusel crisp.

If a croissant and apple crisp had a baby, this would be it! It tastes like apple pie filling stuffed inside a croissant with a good amount of cinnamon flavor. The croissant itself was soft and moist, but this was a bit messy with all the crumbles.

Does this one look familiar? The Matterhorn Macaroon got a Halloween makeover! This tastes just like the original — sweet and a bit nutty from the coconut.

We love the buttery texture of the macaroon and those sprinkles are pretty darn cute. They don’t really add anything to the treat itself, though. If you’ve had the Matterhorn Macaroon, you’ve pretty much had this version! You can snag the Halloween Macaroon for $5.99.

The Pecan Caramel Trifle is made with layers of vanilla bean diplomat cream, brown sugar spiced cake, and candied pecans in caramel topped with chantilly cream, and you can snag it for $6.99.

We were surprised by how much we enjoyed this one! It was sweet, nutty, and spicy at the same time. The chantilly and diplomat cream made this super light and fluffy. It’s a great-tasting dessert, but there’s not a lot of substance to it so if you’re feeling famished we’d get something else.

Finally, we grabbed the Pumpkin Chai Cream Puff for $6.99. It’s a pumpkin-shaped cream puff filled with pumpkin chai mousse and white chocolate crunchy pearls.

This cream puff was so light and airy — and just so tiny and cute! The filling is a pumpkin lover’s dream and we certainly didn’t mind. It’s a light chai flavoring in the mousse that isn’t too overpowering. The cream puff was perfectly fluffy and we loved the added texture of the crunchy pearls — they kept this one from feeling too mushy!

There are plenty of Halloween treats around Disneyland and Disney World, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more reviews!
