Come See Disney’s NEW Nighttime Show With Us!

Disneyland entertainment is like no other. There are Broadway-style shows, incredible technological feats, and extravagant fireworks displays.

However, lately, pyrotechnic elements have been missing from Disneyland shows following a fire to the Maleficent dragon from Fantasmic! Disney announced that a new show would be coming to replace Fantasmic! while it’s on hiatus, and the time has officially come for the premiere of the new show!

The new show is “set to a dynamic jazz score” and features projections on the Rivers of America. It follows the story of a “mischievous little frog from the bayou that leaps into the lively heartbeat of New Orleans when he is lured by the jazzy sounds he hears in the distance.” And, we’re bringing you with us to see its official premiere!

The show takes place right on the Rivers of America

The Heartbeat of New Orleans — A Living Mural show will run a few times per night, but be sure to check the Disneyland app for specific showtimes during your visit. Those times are subject to change!

Now, let’s check out this limited-time experience!

As you can see, this show pays tribute to the lively spirit of New Orleans! According to Disney, the show features original artwork by Disney Live Entertainment graphic designer Marcella “Marci” Swett, known for her Celebrate Soulfully chalk art at Downtown Disney.

The Heartbeat of New Orleans

We’ve seen plenty of Disneyland shows, and we think this one is a cute temporary alternative! From the upbeat music to the colorful animation style, this was a fun little show to check out. Does it rival Fantasmic!? No, but we’re almost comparing apples and oranges when we’re looking at these two shows side by side.

This was a fun, musical show!

If you like the lights, water effects, music, and special projection parts of Fantasmic!, this show is a great alternative. If you’re more interested in the huge dragon and familiar Disney characters from the original show, this might not be as exciting in comparison. That said, we enjoyed the show and loved seeing those fun projections on the water.

The water effects were a nice touch, too!

We’re always keeping up with the latest news from around Disneyland, Disney World, and more, so stay tuned to DFB!
