A NEW restaurant is now open in Disneyland!
Tiana’s Palace opened on September 7th in New Orleans Square in Disneyland Park. This spot is themed after Disney’s The Princess and the Frog, with a menu inspired by classic eats of New Orleans. Lots of folks are super excited to try out the new food, but there’s ONE question that EVERYONE keeps asking us, so we’re here to clear things up.
Is Tiana’s Palace a Table Service Restaurant?
The short answer? No!
Disney has two kinds of restaurants: quick service and table service. Table service is where you’re seated by a host and then a waiter comes to take your order and bring you your food. Quick service is like fast food — you order at a counter and then take your food to a nearby table.
Many people seem to think that Tiana’s Palace is a table service restaurant. However, that’s not the case.
Tiana’s Palace is a quick service restaurant, meaning you’ll order your food at the counter and then take it to one of the tables to eat.
Mobile Order is available (via the Disneyland App), so you can use that to skip the line and get your food faster!
There is an expanded dining area outside with more patio seating than was previously available at the French Market Restaurant.
Will There Be Characters?
Because the restaurant is themed to Disney’s The Princess and the Frog movie, many people think they’ll be able to meet characters like Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen, and Louis the alligator there. But it’s important to note that Tiana’s Palace is NOT a character dining location.
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to meet characters inside the restaurant, but you may still have the opportunity to meet Tiana elsewhere in New Orleans Square!
Other Important Things To Know
There are a few other things you should know about Tiana’s Palace! First, there are NO Mickey beignets inside this restaurant. If you’re looking for those iconic treats, you’ll need to head outside to the adjoining Mint Julep Bar.
However, you’ll be able to get some House Filled Beignets in Tiana’s Palace. These treats have a lemon ice box pie filling and are topped with a lemon glaze. (We tried them already and we LOVED them! They’re a great mix of tart and sweet, with a classic donut texture.)
Also note that Tiana’s Palace will offer the following discounts:
- 10% off (excluding alcohol) for Disney Visa Cardholders
- Imagine, Enchant, and Believe Magic Key Holders receive 10% discounts
- Dream and Inspire Magic Key Holders receive 15% discounts
