‘Harry Potter’ Actor Michael Gambon Has Passed Away

Within the entertainment industry, there are some personas that are recognized and loved seemingly everywhere.

Sir Michael Gambon, the Irish actor who played Albus Dumbledore throughout the last six Harry Potter films was one of those personas. Children and adults around the world fell in love with Gambon’s portrayal of the kind, wise, and selfless Hogwarts Headmaster. At 82 years old, Gambon has passed away, leaving behind a magical legacy celebrated by many across the globe.

ABC News shared on Thursday, September 28th that actor Michael Gambon passed away peacefully at a hospital with his wife and son at his bedside, after a bout of pneumonia.

While the story is still developing, a statement from the family said, “Beloved husband and father, Michael died peacefully in hospital with his wife Anne and son Fergus at his bedside, following a bout of pneumonia. Michael was 82. We ask that you respect our privacy at this painful time and thank you for your messages of support and love.”
