A day before the Mirabel meet and greet opens at Magic Kingdom, “Encanto” decorations are still being added to Fairytale Garden. The castle courtyard space was home to a Merida meet and greet for several years, and a “Tangled” meet and greet before that. It is now being transformed into Casita Madrigal from “Encanto.”
Mirabel Meet and Greet Decorations
On Wednesday, we spotted banners for Julieta and Antonio. There are now banners for Mirabel’s sisters, Luisa and Isabela. These yellow and orange banners resemble the characters’ magical bedroom doors.
At the edge of this stone wall is a banner for Mirabel’s Uncle Bruno, who will be joining the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade on September 15 as Mirabel arrives here in Fairytale Garden.
A family tree was also hung yesterday and there is foliage hanging over the walls.
A banner for Abuela now hangs over the platform where Mirabel will likely appear.
In her banner, Abuela is holding the family’s magic candle.
Behind green walls and scrim, new gates painted with the Los Madrigal family mural are visible.
When Merida occupied Fairytale Garden, the gates were a pair of Scottish tapestries.

Encanto at Disney Parks
After having an initially modest box office showing following its November 2021 release, “Encanto” became a smash hit for Disney when it debuted on the Disney+ streaming service during that year’s holiday season, leading to an ever-increasing presence at Disney Parks.
Mirabel has appeared at Disneyland Resort multiple times. See her in Frontierland below.
Bruno also appeared at Disneyland Resort during Oogie Boogie Bash in Disney California Adventure last year.
Walt Disney World recently placed a casting call for Mirabel’s older sister, Luisa.
An “Encanto” bus wrap debuted at Walt Disney World in late 2022, and it was recently announced that some of the gondolas on the Disney Skyliner will soon adopt “Encanto” theming.
The movie’s presence could increase even further in coming years — during Destination D23 2023, Disney announced that Walt Disney Imagineering is currently developing a potential Tropical Americas-themed replacement of Dinoland U.S.A. featuring “Encanto” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
An “Encanto” photo op recently appeared at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, too.
