Mickey & Friends become The Avengers and other superheroes on a new Disney100 Marvel Loungefly backpack available at Walt Disney World.
We found the bag at Big Top Souvenirs, alongside the Disney100 Decades collections, but only two were available at the time — perhaps put out by mistake. Keep your eyes peeled for this mini backpack as it’s sure to be popular.
The backpack matches the limited release pins revealed at the Walt Disney World 2023 Magic HAP-Pins trading event.
Disney100 Marvel Loungefly Backpack – $78
The bag is patterned with comic book covers featuring Marvel characters reimagined as Mickey & Friends with “What If…?” descriptions on them. Some of the mashups include Mickey as Iron Man, Minnie as Captain Marvel, Daisy Duck as Ghost-Spider, and Goofy as Bruce Banner / The Hulk.
The straps and edges of the back are black pleather. The zippers are silver.
The small front pocket’s zipper pull features the Marvel and Disney100 logos.
The Marvel and Loungefly plaque is on the side of the bag.
It has a small handle on the top.
The interior lining is black, featuring the Marvel and Disney100 logos stacked on each other.

Disney 100 Years of Wonder
In honor of 100 years of The Walt Disney Company, Disney Parks & Resorts across the world have launched new entertainment and offerings.
The 100 Years of Wonder celebration began at Disneyland Resort in January 2023 when new nighttime spectaculars launched: “Wondrous Journeys” at Disneyland and “World of Color – ONE” at Disney California Adventure. There is a platinum Mickey statue (which had to be fixed because the Walt Disney quote on the base was incorrect) and a platinum Minnie statue in Disneyland.
“Celebrating Disney100 at the Disneyland Resort” is a guided tour that includes a walk through both parks, the drawing experience at Animation Academy, a digital download of a photo taken in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, a Disney100 snack, reserved viewing for the Magic Happens parade, and an exclusive pin. Read our review.
Beginning on September 22, Mickey and Minnie will meet Walt Disney World guests in their platinum Disney100 attire at the Imagination! Pavilion in EPCOT. Also starting that day, Spaceship Earth will light up with a special Disney100 spectacle of light featuring a special rendition of “When You Wish Upon a Star.” A new EPCOT nighttime spectacular is also set to debut this year.
At EPCOT, a new platinum Mickey Mouse sculpture (identical to the Disneyland one) will soon be installed in front of the giant 100 in World Celebration. A new mural will feature 100 Disney characters in the neighborhoods of EPCOT and the rest of World Celebration will be decked out with Disney100 platinum banners and other décor.
Two versions of Disney100: The Exhibition honor The Walt Disney Company’s centennial. The exhibit includes a lifelike Walt Disney hologram. Disney100: The Exhibition was at The Franklin Institute through August 27 and will now tour cities such as Chicago and Kansas City. The European installation will soon visit London, then travel to other Europe and Asia destinations through 2028.
Disney debuted a new short to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Walt Disney Animation Studios at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. The studio brought more than 40 voice actors in to reprise their roles and pulled from the archives to use dialogue from past actors like Robin Williams as the Genie. “Once Upon a Studio” combines 2D and 3D animation alongside live action to create a tribute to the studio’s century-long legacy. The short will be attached to Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Wish” upon its release later this year on November 22.
