Disney Parks Blog recently provided a look at a new EPCOT Reimagined merchandise collection coming soon to Creations Shop. While guests will first be able to purchase items released as part of the line in person at an Annual Passholder shopping event later this month, you can secure the new EPCOT Reimagined Loungfly Minnie Ear Headband right now, as it’s currently available for purchase on shopDisney.
EPCOT Reimagined Loungefly Ear Headband – $34.99
The headband is faux-leather and padded with a soft light blue material. A Loungefly plaque is attached to the right side.
The ears attached to the adult headband feature a quilted design that resembles Spaceship Earth, the EPCOT icon that has stood since the park’s opening in October of 1982. The white ears are shiny and, according to shopDisney, feature an “iridescent sheen,” meaning that they appear to change colors from different angles.
The bow atop the headband features an “enamel cloisonné centerpiece representing Spaceship Earth,” per shopDisney. The centerpiece features ridged edges and a central design that simulates the points formed by the thousands of triangles on the structure’s exterior.
The Minnie bow atop the headband features a pattern filled with EPCOT iconography. The EPCOT logo is printed sporadically amongst other images referencing the park; there are icons depicting Figment, The Seas with Nemo & Friends, and the World Showcase neighborhood of the park, among several others. This pattern is seen on most of the other items in this line; other products in the collection include:
- Dooney & Bourke Handle Tote & Crossbody Bags
- EPCOT Reimagined Spirit Jersey
- EPCOT Reimagined Adult T-shirt
- EPCOT Reimagined Zip Hoodie
- Spaceship Earth Light Up Figurine
- EPCOT Reimagined Mystery Pin Set (previously released)
Reimagining of EPCOT
The EPCOT Reimagined merchandise collection “celebrates the next generation of immersive storytelling coming to life at EPCOT,” according to the Disney Parks Blog. That next generation has been several years in the making, as the park has experienced considerable change and has seen several new additions since concepts for substantial alterations were revealed at D23 Expo 2019.
The park was divided into four neighborhoods: World Celebration, World Discovery, World Nature, and World Showcase. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, a trackless dark ride that is a clone of a Walt Disney Studios Park attraction, opened in the France Pavilion at World Showcase in 2021. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind opened in World Discovery in mid-2022. Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, is a walkthrough attraction that is the last major part of the ‘EPCOT reimagining;’ that’s set to open on October 16. World Celebration, the neighborhood that will contain CommuniCore Hall, CommuniCore Plaza, and Dreamers Point, will officially open this December.
Zach Riddley, the Imagineer who oversaw the EPCOT reimagining, was recently promoted to Global Creative Strategy Executive for Walt Disney Imagineering.
