Whether you’re an experienced pin trader or someone looking to make their first foray into the beloved Disney Parks pastime, a litany of new pins recently introduced at Walt Disney World Resort have you covered. New pins celebrating various events and depicting Disney icons old and new are now available at the resort.
New Celebratory Disney Pins
We found these pins at both Creations Shop in EPCOT and Frontier Trading Post in the Frontierland section of Magic Kingdom.
My First Pin Set – $39.99
This set is designed for a young pin collector new to the hobby and contains a lanyard with four starter pins. The red lanyard contains Walt Disney World-themed imagery, including Cinderella Castle, a Mickey ears headband, and the heads of both Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
Three of the pins feature beloved Disney characters in Mickey, Minnie, and Stitch. The Mickey pin depicts the character in a Cast Member uniform and puts him in front of Cinderella Castle. He waves on with a smile, with the words “My First Visit” written in blue text at the base of the pin.
The Minnie pin also places the character in a Cast Member uniform and sees her holding a DOLE Whip, a popular Walt Disney World Resort dessert. “My First Ice Cream” is written at the bottom of the pin.
The Stitch pin depicts Experiment 626 as a pin trader himself; he’s sporting a lanyard and has just secured a Mickey pin. “My First Pin” is written at the base of the pin in a dark blue hue.
The “My First Ear Hat” pin features small illustrations of Mickey ear hats against a light blue sky. Stars appear around the iconic Disney Parks headwear. This set is available at Creations Shop in World Celebration at EPCOT.
International Day of Peace 2023 Pin – $17.99
This limited-release pin was created in celebration of International Day of Peace 2023, which is observed around the globe annually on September 21. The United Nations General Assembly describes the holiday as “a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire.”
The pin features Snow White standing in front of a tranquil tree and water well. A dove sits on her right hand with additional doves spotted around the pin; the dove is widely recognized as a symbol of peace and acceptance. A yellow banner reading “Celebrate International Day of Peace” appears at the base of the pin.
The packaging includes flowers and an additional “Celebrate International Day of Peace” logo. This item is available at Frontier Trading Post in Magic Kingdom.
Mirabel The Art of Encanto Pin – $19.99
This pin, also a limited release, depicts Mirabel from the 2021 Walt Disney Animation Studios film “Encanto.” The collectible was designed by Rebecca Perez Stodolny, an animator who worked on “Encanto” and various other Disney projects like “Strange World,” “Zootopia+,” and “Baymax!” The pin was released in celebration of Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month 2023, which is being celebrated throughout Walt Disney World Resort from September 15 through October 15
The clear packaging includes a cardboard card that contains sketches of Mirabel that, according to a short description included on the back, were inspired by the opening moments of “Encanto” (the scene in which Mirabel sings “The Family Madrigal”). The laser-printed pin is a tangible depiction of one of those sketches and is included in the bottom corner of the package.
The back of the card contains the aforementioned description and a brief biography of the artist.
We found this pin at Frontier Trading Post at Magic Kingdom. It’s also available on shopDisney.
