As Disney California Adventure starts to celebrate spooky season with the commencement of the annual Oogie Boogie Bash event, a new ‘spooky’ flight that combines the festive spirit with Disney history is available for purchase. The new Spooky Tree Flight is now available at Carthay Circle at Disney California Adventure.
The Carthay Circle Restaurant is located on Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure. It’s a replica of the Carthay Circle Theatre, a former Los Angeles theater that hosted the 1937 premiere of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.”
The Spooky Tree Flight is available in the restaurant’s bar and lounge.
Spooky Tree Flight – $89.00
The Spooky Tree Flight pays homage to Carthay Circle Restaurant’s history with “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” as it’s directly inspired by the movie that introduced Western audiences to the idea of feature-length animated films. The ‘spooky tree’ that the flight holder emulates is briefly seen in “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs;” a frightened Snow White imagines the terrifying face on a normal tree roughly 10 minutes into the movie.
The resin holder is various shades of brown and is intricately detailed, with the small lines and ridged base creating the appearance of an aged tree.
The tree’s eyes are solid black and a vivid shade of green, surrounded by a forest green gradient. It holds three small ceramic cups inspired by the poison apple as seen in “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs;” the cups are green, yellow, and red.
The inside of the holder is hollow.
The apple cups are filled with a Crown Royal Regal Apple Flavored Whisky, Sour Apple Pucker, and cranberry juice mixed drink upon initial purchase.
The Spooky Tree Flight comes with a themed box in which you can place the holder and cups after you’ve completed the drinks.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Released in 1937, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” is not only the first film produced by what would eventually become known as Walt Disney Animation Studios, but is also the first feature-length traditionally animated movie ever created. The film follows Snow White as she befriends seven dwarfs who reside deep in the forest, with the ever-present threat of the Evil Queen looming in the background throughout the movie’s runtime.
The character of Snow White has thus become a Disney icon, as it was her film that ushered in the genre that would allow Disney to rise in prominence. “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” is currently in the midst of receiving a live-action remake that’s set to release in 2024.
Oogie Boogie Bash
Oogie Boogie Bash — A Disney Halloween Party is a separately ticked event that occurs at Disney California Adventure each fall. In the past, the event has included attractions such as Villains Grove, the Headless Horseman, Frightfully Fun Parade, treat trails, Mickey’s Trick and Treat dance party, and photo opportunities. All lands remain open during the party.
Unique character meet-and-greet opportunities are available. There is also a litany of event-themed merchandise available; you can check all of that out here. This year’s Oogie Boogie bash runs on select nights from September 5 through October 31.
