After months of construction work, the refurbishment is now complete for the Disney’s Beach Club Resort lobby, and it has fully reopened — The Solarium remains closed. Initially, work was set to be completed in April 2023, though it was extended into fall. This summer, new soft goods were added, including carpeting.
Beach Club Resort Lobby
The single long check-in counter previously in this spot has been split into three counters. We’ve seen the same thing done at several Walt Disney World Resort hotels.
The counters are white, with light blue panels on the front and decorative seashells in the center. There is also now a dip in the center, making the counter more accessible to wheelchair users.
The wallpaper behind the counter is a light pink with a damask pattern of seashells and other beach-like elements. New artwork depicts a beach at sunset.
This piece features Daisy and Donald enjoying the beach together.
In this piece, Donald’s nephews are building a sandcastle.
The other counter has received similar updates and artwork.
The daily events screen is on a column in front of this counter.
One piece of artwork features a lighthouse, umbrellas, and tents on the beach.
The other piece shows Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto playing with a beach ball.
Beach Club Solarium
The Solarium is a relaxation space with windows, a TV, couches, and chairs. During outdoor construction, the walkway from the lobby to the villas was re-routed through The Solarium, but this work is now complete.
A-frame signs stating the Solarium is closed are at each entrance.
Black tarps taped in place cover the doors.
More About the Beach Club Resort
Disney’s Beach Club Resort is in the EPCOT Resort Area, next to its sibling, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. It is also across Crescent Lake from Disney’s BoardWalk Resort. Modeled after nineteenth-century Newport, Rhode Island, the resort opened to guests on November 19, 1990. The last time it received renovations was in 2016.
