A new building is currently under construction at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, next to Pioneer Hall at the former location of Tri-Circle-D Ranch. Work continues at a steady pace, with new additions to the structure since our last update.
New Building at Disney’s Fort Wilderness
This building is most likely going to be a Cast Member facility of some kind.
Roofing tiles have been installed since our update earlier this month.
We also spotted some equipment staged on the roof.
The roofing tile appears to completely cover the roof, which was previously just wooden paneling.
More wooden trim has also been added just below the tile, along the sides of the roof’s edge.
There is still visible wood paneling left uncovered on the exterior walls underneath the roof.
The long fence covered in scrim with green foliage print is still present in this area as construction continues.
No theming has been added to the building just yet. For now, the lower walls are simply white concrete bricks.
The new larger Tri-Circle-D Ranch facility opened in June 2020.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is a camping ground at Walt Disney World Resort that officially opened in November 1971, just over a month after Magic Kingdom.
Fort Wilderness is located near Wilderness Lodge, right next to Bay Lake. Both were once convenient resorts for guests hoping to visit Disney’s River Country, but the water park closed over 20 years ago and never reopened.
Tri-Circle-D Ranch at Disney’s Fort Wilderness is where the horses of Walt Disney World are cared for. Guests can enjoy pony rides (available on a walk-in basis) and trail rides (which are bookable online). A newborn Shetland pony at Tri-Circle-D Ranch was named back in July.
Fort Wilderness is home to the famous “Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue” in Pioneer Hall. The quintessential dining experience has been a fixture of Walt Disney World since 1974. Live performers sing and dance in a Wild West stage show. Between skits, guests can enjoy fried chicken, smoked BBQ pork ribs, tossed green salad, baked beans, fresh-baked cornbread, and strawberry shortcake. Watch our video of the full show below.
