We are staying at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel during opening week. The new Discovery Tower has several types of Disney Vacation Club accommodation. We stayed in a studio with a standard view during our first visit, and we’re bringing you along for a tour.
Because we’re visiting during the opening, we got an “opening weekend” Key to the World card.

Watch our full tour video below and keep scrolling for photos and more information.
Entryway
On the right when entering our room was a blue wall with a black pattern. The bathroom was to the left.
There is a full-length double-layered mirror. This mirror and the mirrors in the bathroom have rounded tops.
Bathroom
The bathroom also has a sliding door.
There’s a tub/shower with glass doors. The shower is lined with marble and has a stripe of blue and black tiles.
The vanity has a white marble countertop, one bowl sink, and blue shelves underneath.
We had a “Sleeping Beauty”-inspired room, so the three fairies were etched on the larger mirror.
Backlighting illuminates them and a strip around the second, smaller mirror (watch our video for a clear view of this).
The bathroom has your standard Disney hotel amenities, including built-in dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower.
The toilet is separated from the rest of the bathroom with a sliding door.
Artwork of the forest from “Sleeping Beauty” is on the wall.
There is a dark blue accent wall behind the toilet.
Living Space
There is a long marble counter with brown wood drawers and seats beneath.
Another rounded mirror and the Samsung TV are mounted on a panel above.
The decorative panel is made up of squares featuring different royal-inspired designs, including Aurora’s crown.
We received various welcome gifts.
We received a print of artwork by Noah Elias. It features Mickey driving Steamboat Willie past Sleeping Beauty Castle and Discovery Tower. There is a Steamboat Willie splash pad at the Villas pool.
On the back is information about the print and the artist.
The two seats that slide under this countertop are purple.
There’s a teal bench in the corner of the room.
Above the bench is framed Sleeping Beauty artwork. There are sketches, colored concept art, and a moment from the final film.
The bed has simple striped white linens.
The headboard is teal, with mounted lamps. There are small round side tables that appear to have drawers, but they’re actually fake with decorative handles.
Above the headboard is a colorful light-up panel of Aurora’s castle as it appeared in “Sleeping Beauty.”
The panel has strips of wood as well as stripes of pink, blue, and green.
The light switch is on the side of the panel.
In the “Sleeping Beauty” room, a rug beneath the bed is striped with shades of royal purple and blue, decorated with vines and roses, and reads “Once upon a dream.”
There is a yellow sofa with matching pillows.
The coffee table/ottoman is on wheels, so it can be moved out of the way of the Murphy bed.
The Murphy bed pulls down over the sofa.
On the wood underside of the Murphy bed are banners from “Sleeping Beauty.”
After pulling the bed down, you’ll see concept art of Aurora sleeping and dancing with Prince Phillip.
There are outlets and a switch for a light above the art inside.
Next to the sofa is a closet holding the safe, spare pillows and linens, and ironing board.
Behind another full-length mirror is an image of Aurora’s animal friends with Prince Phillip’s boots, coat, and hat.
Kitchenette
There’s a kitchenette, with a microwave in the overhead cabinets.
There are standard dishes and silverware, as well as an icebox and toaster.
There is a sink and coffee maker above a mini-fridge.
The backsplash is made of teal blue rectangular tiles.
