We’ve been eating our way around Disney World, just like we always do.
But this time, we’re checking out all the new snacks and foods Disney World has added for Hispanic and Latin Heritage Month. So far, we’ve dived into an Encanto Cupcake, indulged in a sweet taco, and enjoyed a Passion Fruit Tres Leches Cake. But we have MORE new food to try, so we’re heading over to Contempo Cafe at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
So, the first thing we have to note is that almost ALL of the snacks we’ve tried so far for Hispanic and Latin Heritage Month have looked AMAZING. Disney brought its “A” game with every single one of these Instagram-worthy treats. The Coco Sweet Bread looks just as good, y’all. For $5.29, you get Sweet Dough filled with Cinnamon-spiced Custard topped with Coco Décor.
If you put your nose to that photo, you can probably almost SMELL the cinnamon in this thing, and we’re sorry, pumpkin spice, but you’ve had your day — cinnamon is the new fall flavor of choice. The cinnamon-spiced custard is so thick and creamy, but we love it for that cinnamon taste that’s almost like eating Red Hots. YES.
The bread itself isn’t very sweet, but it works because you get the sweetness from the custard. It is, however, soft and flakey, sort of like a cross between a croissant and a bun. The topping adds a nice crunch but, honestly, very little flavor. That icing, though, is pretty basic, and we’re not even sure this snack needs it. If you love the cinnamon butter at Texas Roadhouse, you NEED to check this new treat out.
The only thing we can say is that if you hate cinnamon, you’ll hate this snack, but we’re going to stand up over here on our cinnamon-loving hill and declare our undying love for this sweet bread. If you want to try it out, you’ll have to get to Contempo Cafe quickly — this snack is gone after October 15th.
We’ll be eating even MORE snacks in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more reviews.
